In this section the judgesummarizes the key issues of the acórdão (Table 13) and, according to the article 713 ofthe Código <strong>de</strong> Processo Civil (Eng. Co<strong>de</strong> of Civil Procedure) (2002), it is the duty of thejudge that elaborated the <strong>de</strong>cision to write the summary of the acórdão.Table 13. Co<strong>de</strong> of CivilProcedure) also establishes that the thematic part of the acórdão should be composed ofthree parts: relatório (Eng. introduction, facts and issues) fundamentos (Eng. analysis) and<strong>de</strong>cisão (Eng. conclusion or <strong>de</strong>cision). These parts are clearly separated and introduced inthe texts by Roman numerals (Table 14) or by hea<strong>de</strong>rs (Table 15). In either case, thethematic part is always prece<strong>de</strong>d by the sentence ―Acordam no Supremo Tribunal <strong>de</strong>Justiça‖ meaning that the STJ judges agree with the factual <strong>de</strong>scription and history of thecase (Table 14 and Table 15).
