2965.4.2.1. HeadwordThis field names the specialized verb with its sense number, e.g. dismiss 1 . This number isalways displayed, even if the term has only one specialized sense. The sense number isused in all the other sections in which the term appears. In general, senses are not arrangedin a hierarchical or<strong>de</strong>r and the sense numbers do not have a particular meaning except todifferentiate the frames that a given verb may evoke. Each entry keyword has a labelindicating the part of speech to which it belongs. Verbs are marked as transitive,intransitive or pronominal.5.4.2.2. FrameThis field inclu<strong>de</strong>s four pieces of information: a frame label, a <strong>de</strong>finition of the frame, theparticipants in the frame and other terms that evoke the frame (Figure 49). For instance,Decision is the label attributed to the frame that the verb to dismiss evokes. Frame namesstart by a capital letter. The participants in the frame are divi<strong>de</strong>d into mandatoryparticipants or core FEs and optional participants of non-core FEs. A brief <strong>de</strong>finition isprovi<strong>de</strong>d for each core FE. The section ―Other Terms‖ lists the terms in the same languageas the headword that were grouped together into the frame [Decision]. Terms that aregrouped together into the same frame can be synonyms (quash 1 ), near-synonyms andantonyms (uphold 1 , affirm 1 ) of dismiss 1 .5.4.2.3. Actantial structureThis field <strong>de</strong>scribes the arguments or actants of the verb. The actants are represented by asystem of labels which <strong>de</strong>scribe their semantic role with regard to the predicate keyword.Appendix 8 lists some of the labels used to tag the actants of the terms in the JuriDico. Theactants of the verbs correspond to the core FEs that it profiles. Therefore, the number ofactants may or may not correspond to the number of core FEs of the frame. In the case of
