ABOUT THE CONTRIBUTORS DANIEL ALDERMAN is a Bridge Award Fellow at The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR). Prior to joining NBR, he was a 2008-09 National Security Education Program Boren Fellow in Beijing, China. He is the author of “The PLA at Home and Abroad: Assessing the Operational Capabilities of China’s Military,” 2009 People’s Liberation Army Colloquium Brief (Carlisle, PA: Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College, 2010). Mr. Alderman is currently a master’s candidate at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University and holds a B.A. in history and political science from Presbyterian College. KENNETH ALLEN at the time the conference was held, Mr. Allen was a Senior China Analyst at CNA China Studies; however, he is currently a Senior China Analyst at Defense Group Inc. (DGI). He is a retired U.S. Air Force officer with many years of analytic work on China.
