speleology so far, are gradually letting light teams, living close to cavities, go first : this alteration
has been made possible thanks to the advance of technology.
Lastly, the examination of the survey allows us to be more explicit about certain points,
such as the type and the frequency of practices, the practises taking place abroad, physical
practices different from speleology, a few notion of budget... The study as a whole enables us to
formulate proposals of different profiles of adherents : on the one hand, the educated
townsman, coming from a well-to-do social stratum, the lover of faraway journeys, who takes on
national responsabilities within the federation and who lives in plains... On the other hand, the
rural speleologist, who does not travel much, who practises a lot, for whom speleology is a real
cultural immersion, who lives in the mountains and who restricts himself to local responsabilities.
Other profiles are possible, but they are not so clear-cut.
