1 Introduction<br />

SUMMARY<br />

We start from a simple point of note : any teaching attempt necessarily inclu<strong>des</strong><br />

an educational dimension, if didactics is defined as the transformation of scholarly<br />

learning into taught knowledge. In a physical activity such as speleology, knowledge<br />

consists of the scientific approach (karstology, geomorphology, hydrology, biospeology,<br />

archaeology...) but also of the knowledge of technology and procedure which enables<br />

the speleologist to move around quite safely. This text is aimed at two types of people :<br />

on the one hand, the sports teachers who do not know this activity, but who are familiar<br />

with the thought processes of didactic analysis. On the other hand, the instructors of the<br />

FFS have not, indeed, waited for this work to teach speleology. It is not a question, for<br />

us, of decreeing a norm, but of giving each team of executives the means of defining<br />

better its own intervention, by clarifying facts which remain, in the current state of affairs,<br />

most of the time, implicit or tacit among those teams. It is a matter of reinforcing the<br />

efficiency of the training by making it more rational and concerted.<br />
