1.2 Tensile Strength<br />

Specimens for pipe diameter over 12 3/4" shall be taken from the<br />

position indicated in Fig. 1 <strong>of</strong> this specification. Two API type specimen<br />

shall be taken for pipe diameter greater than or equal to 12 3/4".<br />

1.3 Nick-Break Test<br />

1.3.1 Preparation<br />

Specimens for nick-break test with notches thus worked can break in<br />

the base metal, instead <strong>of</strong> in the fusion zone; therefore an alternative<br />

test piece may be used after authorisation by the COMPANY with a<br />

notch cut in the reinforcement <strong>of</strong> outside weld bead to a maximum<br />

depth <strong>of</strong> 1.5mm measured from the surface <strong>of</strong> the weld bead.
