3.0 THE WORK<br />

The work to be performed by the Contractor shall consist <strong>of</strong> the following<br />

activities :<br />

Pre-commissioning : Entire pipeline project shall be checked with respect<br />

to latest P&ID’s and other design specification.<br />

Dewatering : Removal <strong>of</strong> hydrotest water from the entire pipeline<br />

network system.<br />

Swabbing : Reducing the amount <strong>of</strong> remaining water in the<br />

main pipeline system which is left behind after<br />

completion <strong>of</strong> the dewatering operations to make<br />

the pipeline free <strong>of</strong> water.<br />

Inertisation : Inertising the entire pipeline with nitrogen.<br />

Commissioning : Charging the entire pipeline network with the<br />

product and achieving normal operating conditions<br />

<strong>of</strong> the pipeline.<br />

4.0 PRE-COMMISSIONING CHECKS<br />

4.1 The pre-commissioning checks shall be carried out for the pipeline to ascertain<br />

that the pipeline system has been mechanically completed in all respects.<br />

These checks shall cover the main pipeline including distribution network<br />

system and sectionalising valve stations. The pre-commissioning checks shall<br />

include the following:<br />

i) System Checks<br />

The entire facilities shall be checked against the latest P&ID’s and other<br />

design specification codes.
