7.2.2 Cathodic Protection Power supply Module (CPPSM) for supply <strong>of</strong> power to Cathodic<br />

Protection System shall work on DC input power supply & control the output DC<br />

supply using power switch mode principle. The CPPSM shall be field proven. The<br />

design, internal components, quality, rating & layout <strong>of</strong> components shall ensure high<br />

MTBF & low MTTR. The CPPSM shall conform to MECON Standard Specification No.<br />

MEC/TS/05/62/072A and CPPSM Data Sheet.<br />

7.2 Anode Ground Beds and Anodes<br />

i) Each CP station shall have an independent anode ground bed which may be <strong>of</strong><br />

shallow or deep well construction depending upon the corrosion data collected<br />

by the contractor. Deep well ground beds may also be used in the congested<br />

locations where availability <strong>of</strong> suitable land for spread out ground beds is<br />

restricted.<br />

ii) Ground bed shall be located electrically remote from the pipeline. Nearest part<br />

<strong>of</strong> the anode bed shall atleast be 100 metres away from the pipeline. The<br />

anodes installed in the ground shall be located in perennially moist strata,<br />

wherever possible. Horizontal ground beds shall be at right angles to the<br />

pipeline, as far as possible.<br />

iii) Anodes shall be <strong>of</strong> MMO coated titanium anode or HiSiCrFe anode. alongwith<br />

tail cable.<br />

Copper : 0.5% max.<br />

Molybdenum : 0.2% max.<br />
