14.3.5 All loose stones and rock exposed by the construction operations and scattered<br />

over the ROW or adjacent grounds shall be removed by CONTRACTOR and be<br />

transported to a location considered suitable by the authorities having<br />

jurisdiction, for satisfactory disposal. For stones, gravel or other hard material<br />

which may be buried in the trench the provisions <strong>of</strong> the specifications shall apply<br />

with the understanding that the use <strong>of</strong> the land by the land-owner and/or tenant<br />

will not be interfered with.<br />

14.4 Temporary Structures<br />

All auxiliary structures such as bridges, culverts, sheet piling, posts, signs, etc.,<br />

which were erected or installed by CONTRACTOR as temporary measure, shall<br />

be removed. However, it may be necessary to remove the fence <strong>of</strong> ROW during<br />

the maintenance period.<br />

14.5 Repair <strong>of</strong> Damage<br />

Damages to roads, bridges, private property shall be repaired by<br />

CONTRACTOR. All fences and other structures which are damaged during<br />

construction shall be restored to original condition.<br />

Slopes, water course sides or banks which have been partially or totally<br />

demolished during the execution <strong>of</strong> the works shall be properly consolidated and<br />

restored without waiting for their natural consolidation and settling.<br />

All boundary stones which have been moved or removed during the work must<br />

be reset in their original location to the satisfaction <strong>of</strong> the landowner concerned.<br />

14.6 On completion <strong>of</strong> clean-up, the ROW shall be restored to such stable and<br />

usable condition as may be reasonably consistent with the condition <strong>of</strong> the ROW<br />

prior to laying the pipeline. The COMPANY shall be completely indemnified and<br />

held harmless by CONTRACTOR from any and against all claims, demands,<br />

losses, expenses etc. that may arise in this behalf or the COMPANY may<br />

anyway suffer or sustain, relative to, arising out <strong>of</strong>, or in connection with same.<br />

The COMPANY may require from the CONTRACTOR signed Releases from<br />

land owners regarding satisfactory indemnification and restoration <strong>of</strong> their lands.<br />

14.7 Special precautions shall be taken near slopes prone to erosions and land<br />

slides. All necessary steps shall be taken to ensure the rapid growth <strong>of</strong> grass by<br />

providing wicker barriers and by regulating the drainage <strong>of</strong> surface waters.
