12.1.7 Painting<br />

All exposed surfaces like piping, valves, structures, and miscellaneous<br />

appurtenances shall be painted in accordance with the specifications issued for<br />

this purpose. The corrosion coating on pipe surface will end approximately 0.3<br />

meter above the finish grade and it will be necessary for CONTRACTOR to<br />

provide a clean interface at the junction <strong>of</strong> the protective coating and the paint.<br />

12.1.8 Coating <strong>of</strong> buried-Installations, etc.<br />

12.1.9 Clean-up<br />

All buried valves, insulating joints, flowtees, bends, other in-line fittings and<br />

appurtenances shall be coated with minimum three coats <strong>of</strong> approved quality <strong>of</strong><br />

coal-tar epoxy or any other equivalent suitable COMPANY approved coating at<br />

no extra cost to the COMPANY. For buried pipes either heat shrink tapes<br />

conforming to COMPANY's specification or coal tar epoxy shall be used.<br />

CONTRACTOR shall submit to COMPANY a report used alongwith all the test<br />

certificates. Only after obtaining written approval from the COMPANY,<br />

CONTRACTOR shall commence the work <strong>of</strong> coating.<br />

After all required tests have been concluded satisfactorily CONTRACTOR shall<br />

clean up the site as laid down in the specifications issued for the purpose. The<br />

Site finish shall be graded in accordance with the approved drawings.<br />

12.2 Installation <strong>of</strong> Valves and Valve Stations<br />

12.2.1 Block and sectionalising valve stations shall be installed as shown on the<br />

approved drawings. It is CONTRACTOR's responsibility to have the units<br />

completely assembled, tested and made fully functional including all related<br />

instruments etc.<br />

12.2.2 The civil and structural work shall be carried our in accordance with the relevant<br />

specifications issued for the purpose and in accordance with the approved<br />

drawings as directed by COMPANY. This work as a minimum shall include<br />

clearing, grading, fencing, foundations, etc, as required. All above ground<br />

structures shall be painted as per the specification and color code given by the<br />

COMPANY.
