3.1.3 Sleeve Adhesive<br />

The inner surface <strong>of</strong> the sleeves shall be coated with a controlled<br />

thickness <strong>of</strong> minimum 1mm <strong>of</strong> adhesive which in combination with the<br />

modified epoxy primer, will bond to and seal to the steel pipe and common<br />

yard applied medium temperature yard coatings.<br />

3.1.4 Epoxy Primer<br />

The Epoxy primer shall be a solvent free, modified two components liquid<br />

epoxy type primer, which is applied to cleaned and dry steel surface.<br />

When the sleeve coatings, comes in contact with the liquid primer during<br />

installation, a strong bond is formed upon full curing <strong>of</strong> the system.<br />

3.2 Properties <strong>of</strong> Field Joint Coating Material<br />

The pipe sleeves furnished under this specification shall be tested and<br />

shall meet the requirements specified in the table below:-<br />
