1.0 SCOPE<br />

Cathodic Protection Power Supply Modules (CPPSM) working on switch –<br />

mode principle are intended to supply power to cathodic protection<br />

system for under ground pipelines. This specification covers the<br />

requirements for the design, manufacture, testing, delivery to site and<br />

commissioning <strong>of</strong> the CPPSM (if specified in data sheet).<br />

2.0 CODES AND STANDARDS<br />

2.1 In general the equipment covered by this specification shall, unless<br />

otherwise specified, be in line with the requirements <strong>of</strong> any <strong>of</strong> the latest<br />

applicable standards <strong>of</strong> :<br />

a) Indian Standards Institution (ISI)<br />

b) International Electromechanical Commission (IEC)<br />

c) American Standards Institution (ANSI)<br />

2.2 Wherever the requirements in this specification are in conflict with any <strong>of</strong><br />

the above standards, the requirements under this specification shall be<br />

binding.<br />

3.0 SERVICE CONDITIONS<br />

The CPPSM shall be suitable for installation in non air-conditioned<br />

restricted ventilated room in locations having generally warm and dusty<br />

atmosphere. Service condition shall be as specified in the data sheet. It<br />

not specifically mentioned therein, a design ambient temperature <strong>of</strong> 40 0 C<br />

and an altitude not exceeding 1000 M above mean sea level shall be<br />

considered.<br />
