brick cover back filled with normal soil. Outside the station/plant area the routes shall<br />

be marked with Polyethylene cable warning mats placed at a depth <strong>of</strong> 0.9m from the<br />

finished grade.<br />

7.1.3 All underground unarmoured cables forming part <strong>of</strong> permanent CP system shall run<br />

through PE sleeves. Cables along the pipeline shall be carried along the top <strong>of</strong> the pipe<br />

by securely strapping it with adhesive tape or equivalent as required.<br />

7.1.4 RCC or GI pipes <strong>of</strong> proper size shall be provided for all underground cables for road<br />

crossings.<br />

7.1.5 Cables shall be neatly arranged in trenches in such a manner that criss-crossing is<br />

avoided and final take <strong>of</strong>f to equipment is facilitated.<br />

7.2 Cable to Pipe Connections<br />

All the cable connections to the pipeline including charged foreign pipeline shall be<br />

made using an approved exothermic process. A suitable water pro<strong>of</strong> sealing system <strong>of</strong><br />

the cable connections shall be made which will be compatible with parent coating<br />

system <strong>of</strong> the pipeline after exnothernice process.<br />

For charged pipeline pin-brazing shall be used. Eutectic solder shall not be acceptable<br />

for charged or non-charged pipeline.<br />

8.0 C<strong>IV</strong>IL WORKS<br />

All civil works associated with the complete cathodic protection work shall be included<br />

in the scope <strong>of</strong> contractor. This shall include providing cable trenches, foundation for<br />

equipment and all test stations, etc.<br />

9.0 TESTING AND INSPECTION AT WORKS<br />

9.1 OWNER/OWNER's representative shall visit the works during manufacture <strong>of</strong> various<br />

equipment to assess the progress <strong>of</strong> work as well as to ascertain that only quality raw<br />

material is used for the same. All necessary assistance during such inspections shall be<br />

provided.<br />

9.2 The minimum testing, inspection requirements for all components/ equipments shall<br />

confirm to the requirements as defined in the relevant codes and standards. Detailed<br />

inspection and testing procedures along with the acceptance criteria shall be prepared<br />

by CONTRACTOR for OWNER's approval.<br />

9.3 Test certificates including test records, performance curves etc., shall be furnished. All<br />

test certificates shall be endorsed with sufficient information to identify equipment to<br />

which the certificate refers to and must carry project title, owner's name and purchase<br />

order details etc.<br />
