ii) The minimum testing, inspection requirements for all components / equipment<br />

shall conform to requirement as defined in the relevant codes and standards.<br />

Detailed inspection and testing procedures alongwith the acceptance criteria<br />

shall be prepared by contractor for Owner’s approval.<br />

iii) Test certificates including test records, performance curves etc. shall be<br />

furnished with sufficient information to identify the equipment to which the<br />

certificate referes and must carry project title, owner’s name and purchase<br />

order details etc.<br />

iv) Owner reserves the right to ask for inspection <strong>of</strong> all or any item 7under the<br />

contract and witness all tests and carryout inspection or authorise his<br />

representative to witness tests and carryout inspection. Contractor shall notify<br />

the Owner/ Owner’s representative atleast 20 days in advance giving exact<br />

details <strong>of</strong> tests, dates and addresses <strong>of</strong> locations where the tests would be<br />

carried out.<br />

10.0 PACKING AND TRANSPORT<br />

All equipment / material shall be protected for inland/marine, transport, carriage at<br />

site and outdoor storage during transit and at site. All packages shall be clearly, legibly<br />

and durably marked with uniform block letters giving the relevant equipment /<br />

material details. Each package shall contain a packing list in a water pro<strong>of</strong> envelope.<br />

Copies <strong>of</strong> the packing list, in triplicate, shall be forwarded to owner prior to despatch.<br />

All items <strong>of</strong> material shall be clearly marked for easy identification against the packing<br />

list.<br />

11.0 FIELD TESTING AND COMMISSIONING<br />

11.1 System Testing at Site<br />

The contractor shall furnish the detailed field testing and commissioning procedures<br />

for approval. Field tests as per these approved procedures shall be carried out on the<br />

equipment / systems before these are put into service. Acceptance <strong>of</strong> the complete<br />

installation shall be contingent upon inspection and test results. Field testing shall<br />

include but not be limited to the following.<br />

i) Contractor shall carryout pre-commissioning operation after completion <strong>of</strong><br />

installation <strong>of</strong> the system including all pre-commissioning checks, setting <strong>of</strong> all<br />

equipment, control and protective devices. All site tests, reliability and<br />

performances tests shall be carried out by contractor.<br />

ii) Before the electrical facilities are put into operation, necessary tests shall be<br />

carried out to establish that all equipment, devices, wiring and connection have<br />

been correctly installed, connected and are in good working condition as<br />

required for the intended operation.<br />

iii) Owner/ Owner’s representative may witness all tests. At least one week’s<br />

notice shall be given before commencing the tests.<br />
