Charles HINSON, 72, died at 5 p.m. Monday at his home.
He was born in Roann County, N.C., to Jack and Essie (BROWN) HINSON. He married
Lula Marie LOVELY July 23, 1948. She survives.
He was a union carpenter and millwright until retiring in 1983. He was a member of the
Whippoorwill Community Church, U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, the Disabled American
Veterans and the Peru local of the Carpenters Union.
Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Darlene HINSON, Rocheter, Penny KIGGINS,
Rochester, Patty JOHNSON, Rochester, Bonnie NORMAN, Rochester, Brenda HINSON,
Rochester; two sons, Charles Douglas [HINSON], Rensselaer, C. William [HINSON], Dayton,
Ohio; twenty grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Foster & Good Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian
SEWELL officiating. Burial will be in the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-
8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before services Thursday [at the funeral home]..
Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Society.

Burl FORD, 72, Rochester, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at Life Care Center of Rochester.
He was born in Marion County, W. Va. to Silas P. and Minnie Dail (WELCH) FORD.
He married Verna “Betty” COOK Oct. 13, 1951 in Kokomo. She preceded him in death May 5,
1993.
He was a Rochesrtr resident for 26 years after coming here from Kokomo. He retired
from the Dirilyte Line, Inc., May 1, 1986. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater in
World War II. He separated from the service in 1945.
Surviving are one niece, Rebecca EDGELL, Shinnston, W. Va.; one nephew, Douglas
WILLIAMSON, Shinnston, W. Va.; one sister, Mrs. Ted BLARE, Akron, Ohio; three brothers,
Paul, Herbert and Richard FORD, all of Fairmount, W. Va.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie VANDERGRIFT and Mildred
EDGELL; and two half-brothers, Harry and Fred BORING.
Graveside services were 11 a.m. today at Citizens Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff TAYLOR
officiating.
