Charles HINSON, 72, died at 5 p.m. Monday at his home.<br />

He was born in Roann <strong>County</strong>, N.C., to Jack and Essie (BROWN) HINSON. He married<br />

Lula Marie LOVELY July 23, 1948. She survives.<br />

He was a union carpenter and millwright until retiring in 1983. He was a member of the<br />

Whippoorwill Community Church, U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, the Disabled American<br />

Veterans and the Peru local of the Carpenters Union.<br />

Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Darlene HINSON, Rocheter, Penny KIGGINS,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>, Patty JOHNSON, <strong>Rochester</strong>, Bonnie NORMAN, <strong>Rochester</strong>, Brenda HINSON,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>; two sons, Charles Douglas [HINSON], Rensselaer, C. William [HINSON], Dayton,<br />

Ohio; twenty grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.<br />

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Foster & Good Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian<br />

SEWELL officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Rochester</strong> I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-<br />

8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before services Thursday [at the funeral home]..<br />

Memorials may be made to the <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> Cancer Society.<br />

Sept. 8, 1923 - May 5, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Burl FORD, 72, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at Life Care Center of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

He was born in Marion <strong>County</strong>, W. Va. to Silas P. and Minnie Dail (WELCH) FORD.<br />

He married Verna “Betty” COOK Oct. 13, 1951 in Kokomo. She preceded him in death May 5,<br />

1993.<br />

He was a Rochesrtr resident for 26 years after coming here from Kokomo. He retired<br />

from the Dirilyte Line, Inc., May 1, 1986. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific <strong>The</strong>ater in<br />

World War II. He separated from the service in 1945.<br />

Surviving are one niece, Rebecca EDGELL, Shinnston, W. Va.; one nephew, Douglas<br />

WILLIAMSON, Shinnston, W. Va.; one sister, Mrs. Ted BLARE, Akron, Ohio; three brothers,<br />

Paul, Herbert and Richard FORD, all of Fairmount, W. Va.<br />

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Minnie VANDERGRIFT and Mildred<br />

EDGELL; and two half-brothers, Harry and Fred BORING.<br />

Graveside services were 11 a.m. today at Citizens Cemetery with the Rev. Jeff TAYLOR<br />

officiating.
