Dorothy M. OATESS, 82, Indianapolis, died at 5 a.m. Sunday at the Eagle Valley health<br />

Care Center, Indianapolis, where she made her home.<br />

Born in Rantoul, Ill. to Emmett and Bertha HOKE PUFAHL, she married Russell<br />

OATESS on April 29,1934 at Royal Center; he died Sept. 18, 1969. A 1931 graduate of Royal<br />

Center High School she was a retired sales person for the Singer Sewing Machine having worked<br />

in Crawfordsville, Lafayette and Indianapolis. She was a member of the Chapel Rock Christian<br />

Church, Indianapolis, and the <strong>Rochester</strong> Order of Eastern Star 70, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

She is survived by two sons, William E. OATESS and Donald E. OATESS, both of<br />

Indianapolis, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters,<br />

Vivian KNARR, Joliet, Ill., Leota BLESSING, Windfall, and a brother, Arthur PUFAHL, Royal<br />

Center. She was preceded in death by a daughter; a granddaughter; five brothers and six sisters.<br />

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison-Metzger Royal Center Funeral<br />

Chapel with the Rev. E. Dean DICKINSON officiatig. Burial will be in the Royal Center<br />

Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday until the time of<br />

services. <strong>The</strong> Order of Eastern Star will hold a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.<br />

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Rock Christian Church, Indianapolis.<br />

Feb. 21, 1920 - Oct. 6, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Helen Anne MEYER, 76, formerly of Mentone, died at 9:23 a.m. Sunday tn St. Luke<br />

Hospital, Florence, Ky.<br />

Born in Bon Aqua, Tenn. to Russell and Clara A. PLUMMER CHAPMAN, she married<br />

H. Dean MEYER on Oct. 8, 1942 in Farmington, Mich.; he died Aug. 28, 1993. A registered<br />

nurse she worked for Wymond B. WILSON, M.D., Mentone, for 27 years. She was a member of<br />

the Beaver Dam United Methodist Church.<br />

She is survived by a son, Dennis MEYER, Florence, Ky., three gradchildren and two<br />

great-grandchildren. She is also survived vby a brother, Ralph CHAPMAN, North Manchester.<br />

She was preceded in death by a daugher Linda MEYER in 1965.<br />

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the King Memorial Home, Mentone, with the<br />

Rev. Stanley COLE officiating. Burial will be at the Mentone Cemetery. Friends may call from<br />

4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
