Violet Long<br />

Violet “Babe” LONG, of Bradenton, Fla., formerly of Mentone, died at 6:30 a.m.<br />

Wednesday at the St. Vincent’s Hospice, Indianapolis.<br />

Born in Marshall <strong>County</strong>, she married Everett LONG who preeceded her in death in<br />

1987. She was a bookkeeper for Johnson Lumber Company, Warsaw.<br />

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Alan (Sue) LEIGHTON, Indianapolis, a son, Lyle<br />

LONG, Carlinville, Ill., Two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. She is also survived by<br />

two sisters, Marjorie HOLM and Gladys SHENOWETH, both of Bourbon, and a brother, Bud<br />

SNYDER, Braqdenton, Fla.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. sunday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with Rev. Greg<br />

RITTENHOUSE officiating. Burial will be in the Mentone Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-<br />

2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.<br />

Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Vincent’s Hospice, 2142 West 86th St.,<br />

Indianapolis IN 46260.<br />

Courtney L. Floyd<br />

Dec. 22, 1975 - Sept. 13, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Services for Courtney Lynn FLOYD, 20, 106 South East Lakeshore Dricve, Nyona Lake,<br />

will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Foster & Good Funeral Home.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. David WELSH will officiate. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy.<br />

Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday.<br />

Miss Floyd died at 7:40 a.m. Friday in the Woodlawn Hospital emergency room from<br />

multiple internal injuries sustained in an automobile/tractor-trailer accident at U.S. 31 and Old<br />

U.S. 31.<br />

She was born in <strong>Rochester</strong> to David A. and Kathy A. STAHL FLOYD, who survive. She<br />

lived her entire life in the Macy and Nyona Lake areas. She worked in the Graphic-Arts<br />

Department at <strong>The</strong> <strong>Rochester</strong> <strong>Sentinel</strong>. She graduartd from North Miami High School in 1994 and<br />

from International Business College, Fort Wayne, in 1995 with an associates degree in Graphic<br />

Arts.<br />

Surviving with her parents are one brother, David H. [FLOYD], Macy; maternal<br />

grandparents, Richard and Dorothy STAHL, Macy; paternal grandmother, Chloe FLOYD,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>; aunts, uncles and cousins.<br />

Glen W. Floyd<br />

May 18, 1923 - Sept. 12, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Glen W. FLOYD, 73, 240 Agua Vista Ave., Debary, Fla., died at 2:47 p.m. Thursday at<br />

Volusia Medical Center, Orange City, Fla.<br />

He was born in Peru to Ross Emery and Mary Marie WARD FLOYD. He was married<br />

to Clara K. SLOWN, who survives. He was a retired master carpenter and member of the Devary<br />

Christian Church. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and member of the Experimental<br />

Aircraft Association of Deland, Fla. He moved to Florida in 1970.<br />

Surviving with his wife are two sisters, Mrs. Charles (Marcalla) LATTA, Peru, and Mrs.<br />

Gerald (Barbara Ann) DePOY, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and nieces and nephews. Services will be at 1 p.m.<br />

Monday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Akron, with the Rev. Robert STORY officiating.<br />

Burial will be in the Akron Cemetery. No visitation is scheduled.
