Leone Abbott<br />

April 18, 1912 - Dec. 31, 1995<br />

Leone ABBOTT, 83, 229 W. Third St., died at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Hospital.<br />

She was born in Richland Township to Albert and Ethel NEWCOMB McGRIFF. She<br />

was married to Harold C. ABBOTT, who died in 1973. She lived her entire life in <strong>Fulton</strong> and<br />

Marshall counties. She owned and operated the former Abbott’s Grocery Store for 35 years. She<br />

was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Evergreen<br />

Rebekah Lodge No. 57, and was a 60-year member of the Neighborly Club, all of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Doris LEHMAN and Mrs. Jack (Jane) SUMMERS,<br />

both of <strong>Rochester</strong>; one son, Donald and wife Lois ABBOTT, <strong>Rochester</strong>; five grandchildren, Shane<br />

LEHMAN, Rocheter; Lanae ORBIK, Noblesville, Brian and Todd ABBOTT, both of <strong>Rochester</strong>;<br />

and Kevin ABBOTT, Granger; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Charles (Mildred)<br />

GOHEE, Culver. Preceding in death were one sister, Florence GIBBONS, 1995; and three<br />

brothers, Orville, Roy and Ray [McGRIFF].<br />

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, <strong>Rochester</strong>;<br />

with the Revs. David C. HOGSETT and Jeffrey S. TAYLOR officiating. Burial will be in the<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong> I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m today and from 9 a.m. through the<br />

hour of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. <strong>The</strong> Evergeen Rebekah Lodge No. 57 will<br />

conduct memorial services at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the<br />

Heart Fund or a favorite charity.<br />

Dwight G. Beard<br />

April 5, 1916 - Dec. 29, 1995<br />

Dwight G. BEARD, 79, 7741 W. Mitchell Drive, Phoenix, Ariz., died Friday in Arizona.<br />

He was born to Lloyd and Ruth BEARD. He was a graduate of Purdue University, and<br />

spent many years in the family business of Wild Cat Turkey Farm before starting to work for the<br />

Farmers Home Administration in 1965. He was a county supervisor for 18 years in Indiana,<br />

Nebraska and Arizona. He served as co-pilot of a B-24 Liberator bomber during World War II<br />

and achieved the rank of Second Lieutenant.<br />

Survvig are his wife, Sue BEARD; four sons, Charles A. BEARD, Jeffrey W ADAMS,<br />

Mark T. BEARD, and Timothy Scott BEARD; two daughters, Julia A. HALSMER and Billie<br />

GINTHER HOFMANN; grandchidren, Justin and Jessica GINTHER, Michael and Susan<br />

HOFMANN, Lisa WATKINS, Kathy CARMICHAEL, Gregory, Peter, Paul and Joseph ADAMS,<br />

Scott BEARD and Erica BEARD KNOX, Amanda, Marlena and Robyn HALSMER; Christopher,<br />

Jeremy and Stephanie BEARD, and Shaun Wales BEARD, Jessica and Jeremiah CAMPBELL<br />

BEARD; and great-grandchildren, Nicholas Rhyan ADAMS, Cody Allen KNOX, Bryan<br />

WATKINS, and Charlie HOFMANN.<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m Wednesday at Christ Presbyterian Church, Phoenix, Ariz.
