Mary E. WHITTENBERGER, 79, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday at Life Care<br />

Center of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

She was born in <strong>Rochester</strong> to Milton G. and L. Victoria CHASTAIN<br />

WHITTENBERGER. She is a retired professional musician and was a member of the First<br />

Baptist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and Women of the Moose, all of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Preceding her in death were three brothers, John, Hubert and Milton<br />

[WHITTENBERGER]. Surviving are five nieces, Nancy ROSE, Inverness, Ill., Sandra<br />

FRANCIS, Painted Post, N.Y., Sarah Jane PISTOIA, San Clemente, Calif., Mary SIMMONS,<br />

Houston, Texas, and Marty ANDERSON, Whitehall, Mont.; and one nephew, Steven<br />

WHITTENBERGER, Orlando, Fla.<br />

Graveside eervices will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Cemetery, southeast of<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>, with Rev. Mark SPENCER officiating. Visitation will be from 2-3:30 p.m. Saturday at<br />

the Zimmerma Family Funeral Home, Rocheter.<br />

Memorials may vbe made to the charity of one’s choice.<br />

June 27, 1921 - June 14, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Edna F. STRUMPFER, 74, South Bend, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday at her residece.<br />

She was born in South Bend and lived most of her life in the South Bend area, moving<br />

there from <strong>Rochester</strong>. On Dec. 26, 1959 in South Bend she married Max L. STRUMPFER, who<br />

survives. In 1990 she retired from Inwood’s Department Store.<br />

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Chera L. NEAL, LaPorte, and Mikki<br />

McKAY, Wichita, Kans.; four grandchildren; one sister, Gerri PATZER, Edwardsburg, Mich.;<br />

and one brother, Richard HOLLOWAY, Niles, Mich.<br />

Services will be at 1 p.m Tuesday at the Forrest G. Hay Funeral Home, South Bend.<br />

Cremation will take place at Riverview Crematory, South Bend, with burial of ashes at Southlawn<br />

Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.<br />

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
