Jay L. Tucker<br />

Jay L. TUCKER, 49, 994 Huntertown Road, Versailles, Ky., died Friday in Lexington,<br />

Ky., of a heart attack.<br />

Born in Warsaw to Rex and Dorothy Annabell LONG TUCKER he married Marsha<br />

ZUMBRUN who survives. He was a horse trainer, member of the United Professional<br />

Horsemen’s Association, the Kentucky Walking Horse Association, and the Hackney Horse<br />

Society.<br />

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jami TUCKER, Versailles, Ky., and<br />

his mother, Dorothy TUCKER, Mentone.<br />

Funeral services were at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home,<br />

Versailles, Ky. Graveside services and interment were at 2 p.m. today at the Palestine Cemetery,<br />

Palestine. <strong>The</strong> King Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.<br />

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Hackney Horse Society, 4059<br />

Ironworks Pike, Lexington, KY, 40511.<br />

Arthur J. Miller<br />

Jan. 6, 1921 - Oct. 6, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Word has been received of the death of Arthur J. MILLER, 75, a former <strong>Rochester</strong><br />

resident.<br />

He lived in Dayton, Ohio, for many years before recently moving to the Cincinnati, Ohio<br />

area.<br />

Born in <strong>Rochester</strong> to A.E. and Lucia BABCOCK MILLER, he was a graduate of<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong> High School and Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.<br />

He is survived by his wife, Betty [MILLER], whom he married on April 1, 1951; two<br />

sons, Jim [MILLER], Cincinnati, Ohio, Bob [MILLER], Boston, Mass.; a brother, Fred MILLER,<br />

Indianapolis; a niece, Suzanne BEATTIE, <strong>Rochester</strong>; and a nephew, Fred MITCHELL, Jr.,<br />

Bradenton, Fla. He was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam MITCHELL, in 1986.<br />

Private family services were held in Cincinnati.<br />

Vera L. Stafford<br />

Dec. 22, 1915 - Oct. 12, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Vera L. STAFFORD, 80, 311 Cherry St., Argos, died at 4 a.m. Saturday at her residence.<br />

Born in Marshall <strong>County</strong> to Melvin and Emma ROSE CLARK, she married Herlin B<br />

STRAFFORD on Jan. 9, 1949 in Marshall county; he survives. She was a homemaker and had<br />

been a resident of the Argos community for the past 33 years.<br />

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Ann)<br />

BAKER, <strong>Rochester</strong>, Mrs. Marjorie MULLINS, Argos; three sons, Bruce and wife Shirley<br />

STAFFORD, John STAFFORD, both of Argos; Robert and wife Wilma STAFFORD, Plymouth;<br />

twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents.<br />

Private services will be at 1 p.m. today at her residence. <strong>The</strong>re will be no visitation or<br />

viewing. Grossman Funeral home, Argos, is in charge of arrangements.
