Jay L. TUCKER, 49, 994 Huntertown Road, Versailles, Ky., died Friday in Lexington,
Ky., of a heart attack.
Born in Warsaw to Rex and Dorothy Annabell LONG TUCKER he married Marsha
ZUMBRUN who survives. He was a horse trainer, member of the United Professional
Horsemen’s Association, the Kentucky Walking Horse Association, and the Hackney Horse
Society.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Jami TUCKER, Versailles, Ky., and
his mother, Dorothy TUCKER, Mentone.
Funeral services were at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Blackburn & Ward Funeral Home,
Versailles, Ky. Graveside services and interment were at 2 p.m. today at the Palestine Cemetery,
Palestine. The King Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.

Arthur J. Miller

Word has been received of the death of Arthur J. MILLER, 75, a former Rochester
resident.
He lived in Dayton, Ohio, for many years before recently moving to the Cincinnati, Ohio
area.
Born in Rochester to A.E. and Lucia BABCOCK MILLER, he was a graduate of
Rochester High School and Purdue University. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Betty [MILLER], whom he married on April 1, 1951; two
sons, Jim [MILLER], Cincinnati, Ohio, Bob [MILLER], Boston, Mass.; a brother, Fred MILLER,
Indianapolis; a niece, Suzanne BEATTIE, Rochester; and a nephew, Fred MITCHELL, Jr.,
Bradenton, Fla. He was preceded in death by a sister, Miriam MITCHELL, in 1986.
Private family services were held in Cincinnati.
Vera L. Stafford

Vera L. STAFFORD, 80, 311 Cherry St., Argos, died at 4 a.m. Saturday at her residence.
Born in Marshall County to Melvin and Emma ROSE CLARK, she married Herlin B
STRAFFORD on Jan. 9, 1949 in Marshall county; he survives. She was a homemaker and had
been a resident of the Argos community for the past 33 years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Ann)
BAKER, Rochester, Mrs. Marjorie MULLINS, Argos; three sons, Bruce and wife Shirley
STAFFORD, John STAFFORD, both of Argos; Robert and wife Wilma STAFFORD, Plymouth;
twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Private services will be at 1 p.m. today at her residence. There will be no visitation or
viewing. Grossman Funeral home, Argos, is in charge of arrangements.
