Aug. 28, 1905 - Aug. 28, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Mabel Louise NOBLE, 91, Grace Village, Winona Lake, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday at<br />

the Grace Village Health Care Center, Winona Lake.<br />

Born in Topeka to Loren and Mabel PECK FRANKS, she married Aubrey NOBLE on<br />

Sept. 21, 1952. He died July 21, 1990. She had been a resident of Kosciusko <strong>County</strong> for 70 years<br />

and had been employed at Zimmer, Warsaw, for a number of years. She was a member of Walnut<br />

Creek United Methodist Church, Warsaw, teaching Sunday School for many years. She was also<br />

a member of the Martha Washington Club, Warsaw.<br />

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jay (Donna) BOWER, Claypool, and Mrs. Elmer<br />

(Betty) THORNTON, Rocheter; a son, Arden COOK, Claypool; and a step-son, Wayne NOBLE,<br />

Warsaw; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also surived by three<br />

sisters, Lucille FRANTZ, Buffalo, Mo., Mrs. Earl (Ruth) FRANTZ, Warsaw, and Mrs. Paul<br />

(Alice) THOMAS, Silver Lake. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Vigil COOK in<br />

1945, second husband Aubrey NOBLE in 1990, and two brothers.<br />

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev.<br />

Norman NELLIS officiating. Burial will be at Cook’s Chapel Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation is<br />

today from 5-7 p.m. at Titus Funeral Home.<br />

Memorial contriburtions may be made to Walnut Creek United Methodist Church,<br />

Building Fund, SR 15 South & 200 South, Warsaw, IN 46580.<br />

Steve D. Apple<br />

Oct. 12, 1947 - Aug. 21, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Steve D. APPLE, 48, of rural Robinson, Ill., died at 6:46 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, at his<br />

home after a brief illness.<br />

Born in Noblesville, he was the son of Kenneth R. and Carol GAUMER APPLE, He was<br />

a former resident of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

A self-employed carpet layer, he was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S.<br />

Marine Corps. He was a member and past commandant of the Thomas Jennings Marine Corps<br />

League, a member and past commander of Robinson Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4549, a<br />

member of Robinson American Legion Post 69, Amvets Post 33, Robinson Elks Lodge 1188 and<br />

the Palestine First Christian Church. He was instrumental in raising funds for the Illinois Vietnam<br />

Veteran’s Memorial in Springfield. He also was an organizer of the Marine Corps League Nurse’s<br />

Scholarship Fund.<br />

Surviving are his mother of Palestine; and four sisters, Pam RICH of rural Palestine,<br />

Debbie FULLER of Palestine, Phyllis WARE of Kilamichael, Miss., and Paula SHAULIS of<br />

Phoeix. He is the nephew of Mrs. Stan (Judy) MUSGRAVE of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at Goodwine Funeral Home. Burial<br />

was at the Oak Grove Cemetery, near Palestine, Ill.<br />

Graveside military services were conducted by the Robinson VFW, the American<br />

Legion, the Amvets and the Thomas Jennings Marine Corps League.
