Nov. 28, 1923 - March 11, <strong>1996</strong><br />
Arthur LANGE, 72, 3319 Blynshire Ct., North Vernon, died at 8:30 a.m. Monday at the<br />
Veterans Administration Hospital, Indianapolis.<br />
He was born in Iowa to John Henry and Martha LANGE. On Nov.10, 1944, he married<br />
Betty RUEDE, who survives. He had resided in North Vernon for eight years and was formerly<br />
employed as a Local 172 pipefitter, South Bend. He was a World War II Army veteran and a<br />
member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church and American Legion Post No. 199 in Country<br />
Square Lakes, both of North Vernon.<br />
Surviving with his wife are one son, Richard LANGE, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; one<br />
daughter, Sandra HOPKINS, Brownsburg; his mother, Martha LANGE, <strong>Rochester</strong>; one brother,<br />
Donald LANGE, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Elverne WILKES, <strong>Rochester</strong>; and Elaine ADAMS,<br />
Indianapolis; one granddaughter, Andrea HOPKINS, Brownburg; and two grandsons, Jason and<br />
Bryan LANGE, both of Hoffman Estates, Ill. Preceding in death were his father and one brother,<br />
Wilbur LANGE.<br />
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Lord of Life Lutheran Church, North<br />
Vernon, with the Rev. Richard TREMAIN officiating. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery,<br />
Vernon. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral<br />
Home, North Vernon; and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made in care of<br />
the funeral home to Lord of Life Lutheran Church.<br />

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grace United Methodist Church for Margaret<br />
B. ASHTON, 84, Life Care Center of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Rev. Jeff TAYLOR will officiate. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m today at the<br />
Foster & Good Funeral Home, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the<br />
church.<br />
Graveside serives and interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Reading Township<br />
Cemetery, Farnhamville, Iowa, with the Rev. David KRUSE officiatng. <strong>The</strong> Palmer Funeral<br />
Home, Gowrie, Iowa, will be in charge of the graveside services.<br />
Mrs. Ashton died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at Woodlawn Hospital. She was born in<br />
Galveston, Texas, to John Arthur and Gertrude RAMAKERS BEUG. On Sept. 9, 1930, in St<br />
Louis, Mo., she married the Rev. Cyril ASHTON, who died on Oct. 23, 1965. She was a resident<br />
of <strong>Rochester</strong> for the past 13 years, having come from Denton, Texas. Prior to her residence at Life<br />
Care Center, she lived at 300 E. Fourth St. She had also been a former resident of Farnhamville,<br />
Iowa, where her husband pastored the United Methodist Church.<br />
She was a homemaker, a housemother for many years at Westmar College, La Mars,<br />
Iowa, and a hostess at a Methodist Retirement Home in Sioux City, Iowa. She was a hostess at a<br />
retirement home in Denton, Texas, prior to moving to <strong>Rochester</strong>. She was a member of Grace<br />
United Methodist Church and active in RSVP, both of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Burton (Margaret) YOUNGSTROM, <strong>Rochester</strong>; and<br />
Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) LAMBERT, Oklahoma City, Okla.; one son, John and wife JoAnn<br />
ASHTON, Sioux Falls, S.D.; ten grandchildren, Tim YOUNGSTROM, Knoxville, Tenn.; Teri<br />
FURNIVALL and Stuart YOUNGSTROM, both of <strong>Rochester</strong>; Scott YOUNGSTROM, Ocala,<br />
Fla.; Lory CHAPLIN, Bloomfield, Iowa; Heidi JAHN, Pleasant Hill, Ill.; Dan ASHTON, Des
