Ron KERR officiating. Burial will be in the Athens Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m.
today. An Easter Star service will be held at 8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the YMCA
and the Salvation Army.

Elmer O. Gentry

Elmer O. GENTRY, 89, Rochester, died at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Life Care Center,
Rochester.
Born in Cullman, Ala., to David W. and Rena SEWELL GENTRY, he married Nellie B.
GENTRY on June 28, 1930 in Cullman, Ala. She died June 21, 1990. He had been a resident of
the Rochester area since 1986, having come from Florida. He was a retired employee of Black
River School Corp., Homerville, Ohio.
He is survived by one daughter Mrs. William (Retha Eloise) BYERS, Kent, Ohio, one
son Kenneth L GENTRY, Rochester; five grandchidren, Mark GENTRY, Rochester, Vicki
PATTON, Kokomo, Kevin GENTRY, West Salem, Ohio, Tony GENTRY, Jefferson City, Tenn.,
Brian GENTRY, Lodi, Ohio; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Cliff GENTRY, Holland,
Ohio. He was preceded in death by one son David W. [GENTRY] in 1989 and one brother Alvin
[GENTRY] in 1981.
Private family services will be Monday, Dec. 23, 1996 at the Zimmerman Family Funeral
Home, Rochester with the Rev. Junior BOSE officiating Burial will be in the I.O.O.F Cemetery,
Rochester. There is no visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
Ida B. Bowell
June 26, 1898 - Dec. 15, 1996
Ida B. BOWELL, 98, Argos, died at 11:55 a.m. Sunday at Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing
Home, Plymouth.
Born in Cottonwood Falls, Kan., to John and Eugenia JOHNSON DAWSON, she
married Floyd BOWELL on Dec. 23, 1915 in St. Joseph, Mich. He died Oct. 6, 1966. A
homemaker, she had lived most of her life in the Argos community and attended the Argos Bible
Church.
She is survived by one daugher, Mrs. Jack (Donna) MILLER, Norco, Calif.; one son
Everett and wife Opal BOWELL, Argos; one grandson Jack MILLER, Mira Loma, Calif; four
nieces including Mrs. Virgil (Frances) QUIVEY, Plymouth. She was preceded in death by two
brothers, William and Clinton DAWSON.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, with
Rev. Earl LIGHTFOOT officiating. The family request no visitation or viewing. Grossman
Funeral Home, Argos, is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Missionary Society of the Argos Bible
Church, Argos.
