Hattie M. Miller Singpiel<br />

June 24, 1911 - Aug. 2, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Hattie M. MILLER SINGPIEL, 85, Plymouth, formerly of Argos, died at 6:15 a.m.<br />

Friday at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home where she lived for two years.<br />

She was born in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., to Walter and Grace BENDER WHITE.<br />

She first maried Donald WOOLDRIDGE. He prceded her in death. She later married Fred<br />

MILLER and Conrad SINGPIEL. <strong>The</strong>y also prceded her in death.<br />

She lived in the Argos community since 1947. She was an assistant at Grossman Funeral<br />

Home for 25 years and was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Argos United Methodist<br />

Church.<br />

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James (Linda Kay) WOOLDRIDGE UPP of <strong>Rochester</strong>;<br />

one son, Eugene L. and Barbara WOOLDRIDGE of Plymouth; four grandchildren, Mrs. Harold<br />

(Donna) McCALLA of <strong>Rochester</strong>, David COOLEY, Lucerne; Don COOLEY Jr., Phoenix, Ariz.;<br />

James UPP II, Argos; eight great-grandchildren.<br />

She was prceded in death by two sisters, one in infancy and Mabel MUNDENE.<br />

Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Grossman Funeral Home in Argos with the Rev.<br />

Robin SMITH officiating Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth. Visitation is 2-6<br />

p.m. Sunday and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home<br />

Memorials may be made to the Argos United Methodist Church.<br />

Lawrence Frieden<br />

Aug. 21, 1915 - Aug. 3, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Lawrence “Pete” FRIEDEN, 80, North Manchester, died at 3:50 a.m. Saturday at the<br />

Wabash Skilled Care Center.<br />

Born in Lagro to John H. and Kathryn KRAMER FRIEDEN, he married Jean SMITH on<br />

November 27, 1959. She survives. He worked as a farmer and was a member of the Servia<br />

Church of Christ, the <strong>Rochester</strong> Moose Lodge, and the Logansport Eagles Lodge. He was on the<br />

Board of Directors Farm Credit Service (formerly Production Credit Association, Peru) for 33<br />

years.<br />

Preceding him in death were seven brothers.<br />

Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Paula Jean WERTENBERGER, Union Mich.;<br />

one sister, Grace BOUSE, Silver Lake; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester.<br />

Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Golda McCLELLAND officiating.<br />

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.<br />

Memorials may be made to the Wabash <strong>County</strong> Hospital ICCU Unit or the Wabash<br />

<strong>County</strong> Heart Association.
