Lois A. Mallock<br />

Nov. 15, 1906 - April 21, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Lois A. MALLOCK, 89, South Whitley, died at 9:24 a.m. Sunday at the Whitley<br />

Memorial Hospital, Columbia City.<br />

She was born in Allen <strong>County</strong> to Jesse L. and Odessa SPITLER SPANN She was a 1924<br />

graduate of South Whitley High School. On March 5, 1924, in South Whitley, she married Carl<br />

STONER, who died in 1933.<br />

In March, 1936, in Columbia City, she married Roscoe MALLOCK, who died in 1974.<br />

<strong>The</strong>y lived in Cleveland Township, Whitley <strong>County</strong>, before moving to South Whitley in 1973.<br />

Mrs. Mallock moved to her present home in 1978. She worked for 18 years at the Ideal Dress<br />

Shop and was a member of the South Whitley Church of the Brethren and the South Whitley<br />

Literary Club.<br />

Surviving are one son, Wade STONER, South Whitley; four daughters, Mrs. Charles<br />

(Bonnie) ABLE, Big Barbee Lake; Mrs. Rchard (Judith) CORDILL, Mishawaka; Mrs. Jerry<br />

(Janet) RUEF, Huntington; and Mrs. Leslie (Margaret) WALTERS, <strong>Rochester</strong>; thirteen<br />

grandchildren; twenty great-gradchildren, and two brothers, Bill and Phil SPANN, both of North<br />

Manchester. Preceding in death were one son, Tom STONER; three brothers, George, Maynard<br />

and Leonard SPANN; and one sister, Mrs. Don (Catherine) LANDIS.<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley,<br />

with the Rev. Alan KAHLER officiating. Burial will be in the South Whitley Cemetery. Friends<br />

may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the<br />

South Whitley Church of the Brethren.<br />

Alta M. Scott<br />

Aug. 23, 1917 - April 20, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Alta Marie SCOTT, 78, 3110 C Manitou Park Road, died at 8:40 p.m. Saturday at<br />

Woodlawn Hospital.<br />

She was born in Algoa, Ark., to Edward and Polly Alice LONG SCOTT. She had lived<br />

in <strong>Rochester</strong> since 1987, having come from Oklahoma City, Okla. She was a retired insurance<br />

underwriter and had formerly taught insurance at Oklahoma University. She was past preseident<br />

of the Insurance Women’s Association of Oklahoma and a member of the <strong>Rochester</strong> Elks<br />

Women’s Association.<br />

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, including Eugene SCOTT, <strong>Rochester</strong>; Mrs.<br />

Almira [WINTERS], Walton; and Mrs. <strong>The</strong>lma WEBSTER, Peru. Preceding in death were two<br />

brothers, Claude and Leland SCOTT.<br />

Private family services will be held [at 1 p.m.] on Wednesday, with the Rev. Robert<br />

STORY officiating [at Zimmerman Family Fueral Home]. Burial will be in the Fairlawn<br />

Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Okla. <strong>The</strong>re will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the<br />

Cancer Fund.<br />

Glen D. Zartman<br />

Glen Dean “Dutch” ZARTMAN, 70, Miller Street, <strong>Fulton</strong>, died early this morning at his<br />

residence.<br />

Arrangements are pending at Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, <strong>Fulton</strong>.
