Jan. 28, 1907 - Sept. 26, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Robert Russell LOWRY, 89, University Park Nursing Center, Ft. Wayne, formerly of<br />

Argos, died at Parkview Hospital, Ft. Wayne, following an illness.<br />

Born in Streator, Ill. to Russell and and Lucy M. PONTIUS LOWRY, he married<br />

Genevieve A. BOYCE on October 12, 1927 in Culver; she died Aug. 17, 1984. Residing most of<br />

his life in the Culver and Argos communities, he was a city and rural postal carrier with the Argos<br />

Post Office for 42 years before retiring in 1970. He was a member of the Argos Bible Church,<br />

Maxinkuckee I.O.O.F. Lodge, Izaak Walton League, Lions Club, and served as a volunteer on the<br />

Argos Fire Dept.<br />

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Ellen) SCHAUER, Ft. Wayne, Mrs. Jack<br />

(Kay) SNELL, New Haven; three granddaughters, Beverly NORRIS, Apple Valley, Calif., Terry<br />

VIAR, Fishers. Tamara KNOBLAUCH, Ft. Wayne, and six great-grandchildren. He is also<br />

survived by three sisters, Mrs. Grace GOUCHENOUR, Argos, Mrs Harold “Hap” (Mary) UTTER<br />

and Mrs. Jack (Aleene) ADAMS, both of Mentone, and several nieces and nephews. In addition<br />

to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Geraldine LOWRY, Marjorie<br />

AMOS and Mildred RHODES.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Argos Bible Church with the Rev. Mark<br />

FISHBURN and Rev. Earl LIGHTFOOT officiating. Burial will be at the Maple Grove Cemetery,<br />

Argos. Friends may call at the Grossman Funeral Home, 208 North Michigan St., from 2-4 and 6-<br />

8 p.m. Saturday, and at the church one hour prior to the funeral service Sunday. <strong>The</strong> Maxinkuckee<br />

I.O.O.F. Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 6 p.m. Saturday evening.<br />

Memorial contributions may be made to the Argos Bible Church.<br />

Mildred B. Dice<br />

Sept. 13, 1915 - Sept. 27, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Mildred B. DICE, 81, <strong>Fulton</strong>, died at 1:30 a.m. today at her residence following a twoyear<br />

illness. Born in <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> to Sherman and Bessie EYTCHESON REED, she married<br />

Paul K. DICE on Sept. 12, 1936 in Michigan City; he survives. A lifetime resident of the <strong>Fulton</strong><br />

area, she was a member of the <strong>Fulton</strong> Baptist Temple.<br />

In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lou Ann WHITE, Ft.<br />

Wayne, a son, James R. and wife Vicki DICE, <strong>Fulton</strong>; three grandchildren, Rick WHITE, Ft.<br />

Wayne, James P. DICE and Kimberly RITTER, both of <strong>Fulton</strong>, and three great-grandchildren.<br />

She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Betty KERBY, Frankfort, and a brother, Don REED of<br />

<strong>Fulton</strong>. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby WILDERMUTH and Esther COOLEY.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, <strong>Fulton</strong>, with<br />

the Rev. Lonnie PETERS officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Fulton</strong> Cemetery. Visitation will be<br />

from 4-8 p.m. Saturday and after 12 p.m. Sunday until time of service.<br />

Memorial contributions may be made to the <strong>Fulton</strong> Baptist Temple.<br />

Robert E. Gregory<br />

March 6, 1928 - Sept. 21, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Word has been received of the death of Robert E. GREGORY, 68, Avon Park, Fla.,<br />

formerly of <strong>Rochester</strong>, on Saturday, Sept. 21. Services and burial were in Avon Park on Monday.<br />

In addition to his wife Dorothy [GREGORY], Avon Park, Fla., he is survived by two<br />

sisters, Anna MILLER, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and Willneta FRY, Texas; and two brothers, Joe GREGORY,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>, and Harry GREGORY, Argos.
