Goldie M. Barkman<br />

Feb. 12, 1895 - June 22, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Goldie Marie BARKMAN, 101, Lebanon, died at 4:40 p.m. Saturday at the Parkwood<br />

Health Care Center, Lebanon.<br />

Born in <strong>Fulton</strong> county to Oliver and Nora KESLER SEVERNS, she married Fred L.<br />

BUSENBURG in 1911. He preceded her in death in 1933 She then married Vernon BARMAN.<br />

He preceded her in death in 1963. She lived on a fatm in <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> until 1940 when she<br />

moved to Plymouth. She moved to Lebanon in 1994. She owned and managed the Pilgriam<br />

apartment, an apartment house and tourist home, from 1940-1960. She was a member of the First<br />

Methodist Church, Plymouth, the Business and Professional Women’s Club, and 4-H leader.<br />

Preceding her in death are two daughters, Beulah LcCOSSE abd Rosella F. DORAN; and<br />

three brothers, Ralph, Edward and Lee SEVERNS.<br />

Surviving are one daughter, Judy LINK RODENARGER, Frankfort; four grandchildren;<br />

eight great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m Thursday at the First Baptist Church, Mentone, with Rev. Joe<br />

OLSON officiating. Burial will be at Sycamore Cemetery, Mentone Visitatio will be from 11<br />

a.m.-2 p.m Thursday at the church.<br />

Mildred E. Diveley<br />

Nov. 19, 1898 - March 9, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Mildred E. DIVELEY, 97, formerly of Kewana, died at 7 p.m. March 9 in Hemphill,<br />

Texas.<br />

Born in Grass Creek to Sidney and Rebecca SNYDER POWNALL, she married Russell<br />

DIVELEY in 1920. He preceded her in death in 1971. An elementary school teacher in Grass<br />

Cree, and Kewana, she retired in 1971. She was a member of the Grass Creek United Methodist<br />

Church ad Delta Kappa Gamma, a teacher’s sorority. She graduated from Grass Creek High<br />

School and Manchester College.<br />

Preceding her in death were one son, Dale L. DIVELEY.<br />

Surviving are two sons, William R. [DIVELEY], Wilmington, Del., and Darrell K.<br />

[DIVELEY], Hamphill, Texas; three grandsons, Kenneth R. [DIVELEY], Bradenton, Fla.,<br />

Jonathan S. [DIVELEY], Richmond, Va., and Keith W. [DIVELEY], Plano, Texas; one greatgranddaughter;<br />

three great-grandsons; and one step-great-granddaughter.<br />

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grass Creek United Methodist<br />

Church with Rev. Don REED officiating. Private burial will be at the Grass Creek Cemetery.<br />

Memorials may be made to the Grass Creek United Methodist Church.
