Lorin R. Churchill<br />

Word has been received of the death of Lorin Ross CHURCHILL, 83, Woodbury, Tenn.,<br />

who died June 25, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.<br />

Born to Oscar Warren and Viola COX CHURCHILL, he was a member of the Methodist<br />

Church. He was a retired merchant who operated a grocery store and was an Armour Comptroller.<br />

Surviving are his wife, Helen ZUHLKE CHURCHILL, Woodbury; one son, David<br />

CHURCHILL, Petersburg, Ill.; three daughters, Patricia TODD, Woodbury, Linda VBRANDO,<br />

Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and Kristie GILLEY, Woodbury; one brother, Harold Warren<br />

CHURCHILL, Petersburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.<br />

Darle Y. Smith<br />

Darle Y SMITH, 64, Plymouth, died at 8:01 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital of<br />

Marshall <strong>County</strong>. Arrangements are pending at Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.<br />

Darle Yvonne SMITH, 64, Plymouth, died at 7:30 pm. Suday at St. Joseph’s Hospital of<br />

Marshall <strong>County</strong>.<br />

Born in Plymouth to Milo D. and Evelyn H. PUTERBAUGH HUGHS, she married<br />

Charles L. SMITH on June 18, 1950 in Argos. He survives. She was a former secretary for the<br />

Argos Crop Service for 12 years and was a Deputy <strong>County</strong> Assessor for Marshall <strong>County</strong> for 12<br />

1/2 years, retiring in Jan. <strong>1996</strong>. She was a member of the Jordan Baptist Church, southwest of<br />

Argos, the Association of Indiana Assessors Inc., Marshall <strong>County</strong> Republican Women and<br />

National Federation of Republican Women, and the Green Township Home Economics Club<br />

Preceding her in death were her father, Milo D HUGHS; one sister, Betty COLEMAN;<br />

and one brother, Robert HUGHES.<br />

Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Patti SMITH, Glenwood, W.Va.; two sons,<br />

Richard SMITH and his wife Kennetta, Argos, and Michael SMITH and his wife Kathy,<br />

Charlotte, NC., four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew SMITH, Argos, and Michelle and<br />

Nathaniel SMITH, Charlotte, N.C.; seven great-grandchildren; her mother, Evelyn HUGHS,<br />

Argos; and several nieces and nephews.<br />

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with<br />

Rev. Arley MITCHUM and Rev. Roy FISHBURN officiating. Burial will take place at the Maple<br />

Grove Cemetery, Argos. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday<br />

until services at the funeral home.<br />

Memorials may be made to the Marshall <strong>County</strong> Heart Association or the Marshall<br />

<strong>County</strong> Diabetes Association.<br />

Madlyn Eileen FORT, 77, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday at Pulaski Memorial<br />

Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Foster & Good Funeral Home, <strong>Rochester</strong>.
