Word has been received of the death of Lorin Ross CHURCHILL, 83, Woodbury, Tenn.,
who died June 25, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Born to Oscar Warren and Viola COX CHURCHILL, he was a member of the Methodist
Church. He was a retired merchant who operated a grocery store and was an Armour Comptroller.
Surviving are his wife, Helen ZUHLKE CHURCHILL, Woodbury; one son, David
CHURCHILL, Petersburg, Ill.; three daughters, Patricia TODD, Woodbury, Linda VBRANDO,
Mt. Airy, North Carolina, and Kristie GILLEY, Woodbury; one brother, Harold Warren
CHURCHILL, Petersburg; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Darle Y. Smith
Darle Y SMITH, 64, Plymouth, died at 8:01 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital of
Marshall County. Arrangements are pending at Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.

Darle Yvonne SMITH, 64, Plymouth, died at 7:30 pm. Suday at St. Joseph’s Hospital of
Marshall County.
Born in Plymouth to Milo D. and Evelyn H. PUTERBAUGH HUGHS, she married
Charles L. SMITH on June 18, 1950 in Argos. He survives. She was a former secretary for the
Argos Crop Service for 12 years and was a Deputy County Assessor for Marshall County for 12
1/2 years, retiring in Jan. 1996. She was a member of the Jordan Baptist Church, southwest of
Argos, the Association of Indiana Assessors Inc., Marshall County Republican Women and
National Federation of Republican Women, and the Green Township Home Economics Club
Preceding her in death were her father, Milo D HUGHS; one sister, Betty COLEMAN;
and one brother, Robert HUGHES.
Surviving with her husband are one daughter, Patti SMITH, Glenwood, W.Va.; two sons,
Richard SMITH and his wife Kennetta, Argos, and Michael SMITH and his wife Kathy,
Charlotte, NC., four grandchildren, Michael and Matthew SMITH, Argos, and Michelle and
Nathaniel SMITH, Charlotte, N.C.; seven great-grandchildren; her mother, Evelyn HUGHS,
Argos; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with
Rev. Arley MITCHUM and Rev. Roy FISHBURN officiating. Burial will take place at the Maple
Grove Cemetery, Argos. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday
until services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Marshall County Heart Association or the Marshall
County Diabetes Association.

Madlyn Eileen FORT, 77, Rochester, died at 5:45 a.m. Tuesday at Pulaski Memorial
Hospital. Arrangements are pending at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester.
