Violet O. Simmons<br />

July 18, 1913 - July 30, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Violet O. SIMMONS, 83, formerly of Flora, died Saturday at Pleasant View Nursing<br />

Home, Monroe, Wis.<br />

Born in Hamilton <strong>County</strong> to Frank and Lillie SIMMS HUNNICUTT, she married Robert<br />

L. SIMMONS on October 26, 1932 in Brownstone. He survives. <strong>The</strong>y moved from Flora to<br />

Avon Township in 1959, where they farmed until 1992. She was a member of the United<br />

Methodist Church, Brodbent, Wis., and a past member of the Homemakers of Carroll <strong>County</strong>.<br />

Preceding her in death were one son, Robert [SIMMONS] Jr., in 1992; two brothers,<br />

Jesse and Bill [HUNNICUTT]; and three sisters, Pearl, Martha, and Maude [HUNNICUTT].<br />

Surviving with her husband are two daughters, Ruby REED and her husband Don,<br />

Kewanna, and Roberta EVANS and her husband Tom, Madison, Wis.; thirteen grandchildren;<br />

eighteen great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Brodbent, with Rev.<br />

Amos SHIMKO officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Brodbent. Visitation will be<br />

from 6-8 p.m Monday at the Newcomer Funeral Home, Brodbent.<br />

Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Brodbent.<br />

James L. Craig<br />

July 29, 1937 - July 21, <strong>1996</strong><br />

James L. CRAIG, 58, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday at his home.<br />

Born in Eaton, Ohio to John Daniel and Margaret Louise TUTHILL CRAIG, he married<br />

Nancy PRINCE on June 1, 1974. She survives. He worked as a carpenter at Culver Military<br />

Academy. Before coming to <strong>Rochester</strong> he lived in the Culver area for 12 years. He was also a<br />

member of the Culver Bible Church.<br />

Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Doreen KAY, Bremen; three sons, Mark Allen<br />

CRAIG and Gerald Wayne CRAIG, both of Bremen, and Charles Robert CRAIG, South Bend;<br />

three step-daughters, Penny KERSEY, Kimberly DEWITT, and Jolene WOLVERTON, all of<br />

Culver; one sister, Barbara CHEATHAM, Whitesvburg, Ga.; three brothers, Floyd CRAIG,<br />

Yankeetown, Fla., and George and Edward CRAIG, both of Villa Rica, Ga.; and fourteen<br />

grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Culver Bible Church, with the Rev. Daniel<br />

HUHN officiating. Burial will be at the New Oak Hill Cemetery and visitation will be Tuesday<br />

from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth.<br />

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.<br />

Wayne CORN, 72, Warsaw, died at 1 a.m. today at Kosciusko Community Hospital,<br />

Warsaw.<br />

Arrangements are pending at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
