William K. Downs<br />

Word has been received of the death Sunday of William K. DOWNS, 69, Bradenton, Fla.<br />

He was the former co-owner of Lockridge Photography Studio in <strong>Rochester</strong>. In 1962 he<br />

joined Keith Cole Studios in California and resided in Sunnyvale until 1974, when he directed the<br />

firm’s expansion in Maryland and Florida. In <strong>Rochester</strong>, he was president of the Chamber of<br />

Commerce and the Kiwanis Club.<br />

Survivors includes his wife, Beverly [DOWNS], Bradenton, Fla.; two sons, William<br />

Michael DOWNS, Kirkland, Wash., Gregory Allen DOWNS, Boca Raton, Fla.; one daughter,<br />

Sandy MURPHY, Walnut Creek, Calif.; his father, William Joel DOWNS, Tucson, Ariz.; one<br />

brother, Richard E. DOWNS, and three step-children. Services and burial will be in Bradenton,<br />

Fla.<br />

Marcia E. Cloud<br />

November 10, 1907 - May 22, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Marcia E. CLOUD, 88, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 8:55 p.m. yesteday at Life Care Center,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>. Born in Oxford to Oscar and Nettie JARVIS ELLSWORTH, she married Earl A.<br />

CLOUD in 1930. She has been a resident of <strong>Rochester</strong> since 1944, having come here from<br />

Benton Harbor, Mich. Preceding her in death are her husband, Earl A. Cloud; parents, Oscar and<br />

Nettie Jarvis Ellsworth; and two brothers, John and Talmage [ELLSWORTH].<br />

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Lou HUDKINS, North Little Rock, Ark., Earline<br />

O’BLENIS and Wanda TOWNSEND, <strong>Rochester</strong>; one son, Earl “Bud” CLOUD and his wife<br />

Jeannie, <strong>Rochester</strong>; two sisters Mary JAMES (her twin), Michigan City and Evelyn HARTMAN,<br />

Benton Harbor, Mich.; one brothr, Edward ELLSWORTH and his wife Dorothy, St. Joseph,<br />

Mich.; and fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, <strong>Rochester</strong>, with the<br />

Rev. Don BRENNEMAN officiating. Burial will be at the Richland Center Cemetery, seven<br />

miles northwest of <strong>Rochester</strong>. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday and one<br />

hour prior to the funeral service.<br />

Charles G. Newman<br />

August 29, 1915 - May 22, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Charles G. NEWMAN, 80, Culver, died at 3:36 p.m. yesterday in Plymouth.<br />

He was born in Culver, where he resided for 80 years, to John and May WARMBROD<br />

NEWMAN. He was a member of Culver Grace United Church of Christ, the Indiana Holstein<br />

Association, the National Holstein Association, past director of Marshall <strong>County</strong> Farm Bureau and<br />

Marshall <strong>County</strong> Dairy Herd Improvement Association, AMPI Foremost Farms, <strong>Fulton</strong>-Marshall<br />

<strong>County</strong> Co-op, and Marshall <strong>County</strong> Dairy Association. He was also coordinator for Recycling<br />

Shavings from Young Door, Inc., Plymouth<br />

He is preceded in death by his brother, J. Allen NEWMAN.<br />

Surviving are two sisters, Lorvina N. WESSON, Culver and Helen SAMUELSON,<br />

Plymouth; two brothers, Jesse D. NEWMAN, Culver and Herbert R. NEWMAN, Sr., Culver; and<br />

fifteen nieces and nephews.<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Grace United Church of Christ, Culver, with<br />

the Rev. Wayne McALLISTER officiating. Burial will take place Saturday in the Zion Cemetery,<br />

Culver and visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. on Frday at Bonine Funeral Home, Culver.<br />

Memorials can be made to Culver Grace United Church of Christ.
