Roger C. SWANSON, 64, Nyona Lake and Tampa, Fla., died at 7:25 a.m. Thursday at
Brandon Memorial Hospital, Brandon, Fla.
Born in Twelve Mile to Clarence C. and Hazel D. SLIFER SWANSON, he married
Rosemary L. RHODES on Sept. 6, 1952 at the home of the late Rev. C.F.GOLDEN near Denver.
She survives.
He graduated from Twelve Mile High School in 1950 and was a Korea War veteran. He
was a former Cass County Highway supervisor and agent for Logansport Metal Culvert Co.,
Logansport. He was a member of the Over The Hill Gang, Twelve Mile, Royal Center Masonic
Lodge, Royal Center, and the Scottish Rite, Fort Wayne Valley, Fort Wayne
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters Teresa HOAGLAND, Cape Coral,
Fla., Chris TOWNSEND, Twelve Mile; one son Jeff SWANSON, Twelve Mile, five
grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; and three aunts Clarice SWANK, Twelve Mile, Ethel
PETTIT, Tampa, Fla., and Mildred SLIFER, Swayzee.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at the McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with the Rev.
Mark METZ officiatig. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Twelve Mile. Vsitation is from 2
to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Harold L. Poorman
May 13, 1922 - Dec. 18, 1996
Harold L. POORMAN, 74, Fulton, died at 12:22 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Hospital,
Logansport.
Born in Fulton to William J. and Zilphia L. REED POORMAN, he married Alpha J
WILLS on June 5, 1953 in Rochester. She survives. He was a member of the Logansport Eagles
Lodge 323.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Debra Kay SHAFFER, Fulton; a
grandson Jamison A. SHAFFER, Fulton, one sister Helen KALEY, Park Rapids, Minn.; several
nieces and nephews; and friends Patty and Lee SHAFER. He was preceded in death by one sister
Mary Jean CLELAND.
Services are at 1:30 p.m Saturday at McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Funeral Home,
1603 East Broadway St., Logansport, with the Rev. George HAPNER officiating. Burial will be
in the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton. Visitation is from 1:30 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
