Nov. 1, 1912 - June 25, 1995<br />

Joseph Engle MEISER, 83, formerly of <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday at<br />

Highland Springs Geeral Hospital, Sebring, Fla.<br />

Born in Blytheville, Ark. to Joe and Jennie ENGLE MEISER, he married Audrey May<br />

WEAVER on Jan. 19, 1941 in <strong>Rochester</strong>. She preceded him in death on Sept. 25, 1994. He has<br />

been a resident of Sebring, Fa. for the past 12 years having come from Hudson, Fla. Prior to that<br />

he had resided near <strong>Rochester</strong>. Along with his brother, he owned and operated Meiser’s<br />

Excavating business, <strong>Rochester</strong>, until retirig in 1975.<br />

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, <strong>Rochester</strong>. During Word War<br />

II he served in the U.S. Army Air Force in the China-Burma <strong>The</strong>ater.<br />

Surviving are one daughter, Jo Anne KAY, Sebring, Fla.; one granddaughter, Heather<br />

KAY, Sebring, Fla.; two sisters, Helen COX, Plymouth, and Dorothy McPHERSON, Lexington,<br />

Tenn.; one brother, Harold MEISER and his wife Milly, <strong>Rochester</strong>; one brother-in-law, Arthur<br />

WEAVER and his wife Dorothy, <strong>Rochester</strong>; and several nieces and nephews.<br />

Services will be at 10:30 a.m Monday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, <strong>Rochester</strong>, with<br />

Rev. David HOGSETT officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and<br />

visitation will be from 2-6 p.m Sunday and one hour prior to services at the funeral home.<br />

Wayne R. Atkinson<br />

July 6, 1916 - June 26, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Wayne R. ATKINSON, 79, <strong>Rochester</strong>, died at 12:08 Wednesday at <strong>Rochester</strong> Health<br />

Care Center.<br />

Born in Centerville, Iowa to Frank and Margaret ATKINSON, he married Barbara<br />

DENISTON. She preceded him in death. He then married Joan HEETER on June 4, 1949 She<br />

survives. He lived in <strong>Rochester</strong> for the past 60 years. He was a retired sales representative with<br />

the Terry Berry Company and Inter-Collegiate Press. He was a member of the First Presbyterian<br />

Church, the Manitou Moose Lodge, and the Elks Lodge, all of <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Preceding him in death were one sister, Lena LOVE.<br />

Surviving with his wife are one daughter, Patricia CUNNINGHAM, Harper Woods,<br />

Mich.; two sons Michael L. ATKINSON, Willis, Texas, and Thomas M. ATKINSON, <strong>Rochester</strong>;<br />

seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.<br />

Private services will be Friday at the Zimmerman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Robert<br />

KRYTZER officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Athens.<br />

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
