Jan. l23, 1928 - April 18, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Robert R. PORTER, 68, 3215 Country Club Drive East, died at 12:22 p.m. Thursday at<br />

Woodlawn Hospital.<br />

He was born in Kokomo to Marvin “Glay” and Madeline A. FLORA PORTER. On May<br />

13, 1950, in Kokomo, he married Catherine V BECHELLI, who survives. He retired in 1987 from<br />

Delco Electronics after 25 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers No. 292 and<br />

served in the Seabees of the U.S. Navy during World War II.<br />

Surviving with his wife are one son, William J. PORTER, <strong>Rochester</strong>; one daughter and<br />

son-in-law, Tina L. and Stanley B. LITTLE, Mulberry; two grandchildren; two brothers and two<br />

sisters-in-law, Donal G. and Valerie PORTER and James L. and Mildred L. PORTER, all of<br />

Kokomo; one sister and brother-in-law, E. Rosanna and Richard STAHL, Kokomo; and several<br />

nieces and nephews.<br />

‘ Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Fenn & Shirley Mortuary, Colonial<br />

Chapel, Kokomo, with the Rev. Francis I. KILCLINE officiating. Friends may call from 1 p.m<br />

through the hour of services Saturday at the mortuary. Mr. Porter will be cremated and a private<br />

burial of the remains will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart<br />

Association or to the Diabetes Association.<br />

March 22, 1933 - April 19, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Sarah E. BOND BROWN, 63, 1318 Washington St., died Friday at the home of her son,<br />

Roger BOND. She had been ill for a long time.<br />

She was born in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Robert and Mary Jane REFFITT, who preceded in<br />

death. She lived most of her life in <strong>Rochester</strong>. She was married to Earl BOND who died April 17,<br />

1970. She later married Robert A. BROWN. <strong>The</strong>y were divorced. She retired from Torin<br />

Brookside Corp. after 33 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Argos.<br />

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jeff (Debra) LaBERE, <strong>Rochester</strong>; two sons, Roger and<br />

Mary BOND, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and Kenneth [BOND], Elkhart; eight grandchildren, Ryan and B.J.<br />

[BOND], both of <strong>Rochester</strong>; Scott FIGERT, Lakelad, Fla.; Dustin FIGERT, South Bend; Michelle<br />

SPURLOCK and Felica BESSE, both of <strong>Rochester</strong>; and Kyle and Nick LaBERE, both of<br />

Walkerton; three great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Sandy, Tina and Jackie BROWN, all<br />

of Spartanburg, S.C.; one step-son, Randy BROWN, <strong>Rochester</strong>; two sisters, Agnes BRIGHT,<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>, and Mrs. Edward (Mary) LANGLEY, Anderson. Preceding in death were one son,<br />

Michael E. [BOND], one sister, Areminda BRADLEY and one brother, Clifton REFFITT.<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Argos, with pastor<br />

Robert MACE officiating. Burial will be in the <strong>Rochester</strong> I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call<br />

from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, <strong>Rochester</strong>, and one hour before the<br />

services Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice of <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong>.
