Carol F. HATFIELD, 52, 610 N. Spring St., Wabash, died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday at
Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born in Wabash to Earl R. and Anna M. TRODER LAMBERT. On June 24,
1962, she married Thomas E. HATFIELD, who survives. She was a homemaker, a member of
Olive Branch Church of God, Roann, and also attended the Christian Fellowship Church, North
Manchester. She was a member of the Bells & Beaus Square Dance Club and a 1961 graduate of
Laketon High School.
Surviving with her husband are two sons, Timothy R. HATFIELD, Rockford, Ill; and
Thomas R. HATFIELD, Wabash; four grandchildren; four step-grandchldren; and one brother,
Paul R. LAMBERT, Liberty Mills.
Services will be at 1 p.m Tuesday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester,
with the Revs. Lawrence SEE and J.P. FREEMAN officiating. Burial will be private. Friends
may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today, and two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at
the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Liver Disease Research Foundation.
James R. McCord
Oct. 15, 1909 - Feb. 24, 1996
James R. McCORD, 86, 18935 North 600 West, Elwood, died at 11:05 a.m. Saturday at
St. Joseph Hospital, Kokomo.
He was born in Jasper County to John W and Etta McCOY McCORD. On Oct. 20, 1934,
in Malita, Ohio, he married Treva M. LATTA, who died on March 14, 1988 He was a former
member of Nyona Lake and was active in the Macy community. He had retired from the N&W
Railroad section crew and attended the Rigdon United Methodist Church. He was past master of
Grant Lodge No.637, Swayzee; and a member and past patron of the Swayzee Chapter No. 345
Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are one son, Xen Lee and wife Debbie McCORD, Elwood; three
grandchildren, Jason ad wife Patricia McCORD and Jeremy McCORD, both of Rigdon; and
Angela McCORD, Elwood; one great-grandson, Matthew McCORD, Rigdon; and his stepmother-in-law,
Nellie LATTA, Napoleon, Ohio.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Swayzee United Methodist Church, with the
Rev. Jim NICKLES officiating. Burial will be in the Thrailkill Cemetery, Swayzee. Friends may
call from 4 to 8 p.m Tuesday at the church. A Masonic service will be conducted at 8 p.m.
Tuesday at the church.
