April 29, 1906 - May 18, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Roy E. MEREDITH, 90, formerly of Akron, died at 8:10 p.m Friday at the LaPorte<br />

Hospital, LaPorte.<br />

He was born in Kosciusko <strong>County</strong> to Elmer Earl ad Bertha LAIRD MEREDITH. In<br />

1933 he married Evelyn BLESCH She survives. He was an education administrator, teacher and<br />

principal in Rossville, Illinois He was a teacher and principal for 20 years at Akron High School.<br />

He was also assistant superintendent at Tippecanoe Valley School Corporation for eight years. He<br />

was a member of the Mentone Church of Christ He was a charter member of the Akron Lions<br />

Club, to which he belonged for 65 years. A past president of the <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> Hospital<br />

Association, he was a member of Phi Delta Kappa. He was a World War II veteran, a past<br />

member of the Akron Chamber of Commerce and an Indiana University graduate.<br />

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn [MEREDITH]; one daughter, Marcia MORRIS, LaPorte;<br />

one son, John MEREDITH, Fort Wayne; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.<br />

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Akron Cemetery with Dr.<br />

William WIMBERLY officiating Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m on Tuesday at the Hartzler<br />

Funeral Home, Akron.<br />

Memorial contributions can be made to the Mentone Church of Christ, Akron United<br />

Methodist Church or the charity of choice.<br />

Dustin Elsworth Brodbent<br />

May 17, <strong>1996</strong> - May 18, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Dustin Elsworth BRODBENT, infant son of Glenn and Lavon STEPHENS BRODBENT,<br />

died at 2:30 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Hospital, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Surviving with his parents are grandparents Milford and Virgina STEPHENS, Claypool,<br />

and Glenn Jr. and Elsie E. BRODBENT, Plymouth; great-grandparents, Lilly AULT, Akron and<br />

Lester BRUNER, Warsaw.<br />

Services will be 1 p.m on Wednesday at the New Oakhill Cemetery Chapel with Billy<br />

STEELE officiating.
