Herbert Gene “Bud” BOWELL, 71, 104 Westview Court, Argos, died at 2:10 p.m. Friday
at his home. He had been in failing health for a number of years.
He was born in Argos to Herbert H. and Eloyse YEARICK BOWELL. On Sept. 18,
1943 in Argos he married Helen I. ELLIOTT, who survives. He was the owner of Bo Wellco
Building, Napoleon, Ohio, and was the retired director of operations for Wicks Corporation,
Argos. He retired in 1979 after 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the
medical corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of the Argos United
Methodist Church
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Doug (Sue Ann) STULTZ, Napoleon, Ohio, and Mrs.
Joe (Lisa Ann) DUNFEE, Argos; two sons, Robert ALLEN, Benton Harbor, Mich., and Randy
ALLEN, Toledo, Ohio; seven grandchildren, and two sisters, Mary RITTER, Lafayette, and Mrs.
Harold (Nancy) HENDERSON, Lake Havasu, Ariz. Preceding in death was one sister, Evelyn
ZINK, ad one brother, Harold [BOWELL].
Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Argos United Methodist Church with the Revs.
Robin SMITH and Richard LEWKE officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery
where graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Friends may call at the church from
5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials
may be made to the Kidney Foundation and the Marshall County Cancer Foundation.

Gene R. Grogg
July 6, 1939 - July 21, 1996
Gene R. GROGG, 57, Rochester, died at 6:43 a.m. Sunday at his residence following an
18-month illness.
Born in Auburn to Albert and Mary E. KESSLER GROGG, he married Jo Ann
HICKMAN GROGG on May 21, 1959 in Rochester. She survives. He was a member of the
International Union Operating Engineers locals No. 150, South Bend and No. 103, Kokomo.
From 1977-1993 he was a plant supervisor for McMahan-O’Connor Construction Co., Rochester,
retiring in 1995. He also had been associated with Spears-Dehner Construction Co., Fort Wayne,
and Phend-Brown Construction Co., Milford. He was a 1957 graduate of Rochester High School
and he coached girls softball for many years.
Surviving with his wife are two daughters, Christy GROGG, Las Vegas, Nev., and Marci
SABIN and her husband Al, Rochester; one son, David GROGG and hi wife Sharon, Grand
Rapids, Mich.; one grandson, Derek GROGG, Grand Rapids, one sister, Shirley STICE and her
husband Clayton, Denver, Colo.; and one brother, Dan GROGG, Rocheter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, with
Rev. Junior BOSE officiating. Burial will be at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rochester. Friends may
call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. Wednesday until services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Rochester High School Scholarship General Fund or the
Fulton County Cancer Fund.
James Craig
James CRAIG, 58, Rochester, died at 4:15 p.m. Sunday at his residence. Arrangements
are pending at Van Gilder Funeral Home, Plymouth.
