James T. Holland<br />

June 15, 1941 - Jan. 5, <strong>1996</strong><br />

James T. HOLLAND, 54, 2708 Goose Pond Road, died at 1:45 a.m. Friday at his<br />

residence.<br />

He was born in Peru. His parents were James J. and Juanita TEMPLE HOLLAND. In<br />

1959, he married Victoria PRATHER. On June 22, 1979, he married Carol “Judy”<br />

RICHARDSON HOPPER, who survives. He was the former owner of Holland Grocery, and was<br />

also employed at Standard Food ad Five Star Grocery Stores, all of Peru. He had been in the<br />

grocery business all his life He was a member of the Elks Lodge and a past district deputy, Moose<br />

and Eagles Lodges and the Peru Maennerchor.<br />

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Christopher and Mark HOLLAND, both of Peru;<br />

two daughters, Kelly EYMAN, Fort Wayne; and Karol HOWARD, Peru; two step-sons, Jeffrey<br />

and Terry HOPPER, both of Peru; one step-daughter, Kathrine DUNPHY, Peru; his father, James<br />

J. HOLLAND, Peru; two brothers, Robert and Michael HOLLAND, both of Peru; ten<br />

grandchildren and eleven step-grandchildren. Preceding in death were his mother and one stepgrandchild<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m Monday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with the Rev.<br />

Mark LOWE officiating. Burial will be in the Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass <strong>County</strong>. Friends<br />

may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home Memorials may be made to the<br />

American Diabetes Association.<br />

May 10, 1906 - Jan. 4, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bonine Funeral Home, Culver, for Mae D.<br />

MADARAS, 89, 6690 1000 W., Culver.<br />

<strong>The</strong> Rev. Floyd G. ALLEN will officiate. Graveside services will be conducted at 3 p.m.<br />

Monday at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at<br />

the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders<br />

Association.<br />

Mrs. Madaras died at 7 a.m. Thursday at her resdence. She was born in South Bend to<br />

Matthew ORSTYNOWICZ. On May 21, 1952, in South Bend, she married Joseph J.<br />

MADARAS, who died on Aug. 25, 1991. She was a retired secretary at Studebaker Corp. and<br />

resided in Culver for 39 years, having come from South Bend. She was a member of Delong<br />

Gospel Lighthouse Church.<br />

Survivng are one step-son, Joseph D. MADARAS, Three Rivers, Mich; four stepgrandchildren;<br />

five step-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia S. ROCKHILL, South Bend.<br />

Preceding in death were one sister and one brother.
