Shyanne Marie GARCIA, 3 1/2 weeks, Akron, died at 5:05 pm. Wednesday at Riley
Childrens Hospital, Indianapolis.
She was born in South Bend to Rafael and Jessica MULLINS GARCIA. Surviving with
her parents are maternal grandparents Gary and Mindy MILLER, Silver Lake, and Craig (wife
Beth) BRUCE, Peru; paternal grandparents Rafael and Maria GARCIA, Akron; maternal greatgrandother,
Lucille BRUCE, Chicago, and paternal great-grandmother, Maria GARCIA, country
of Mexico.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Akron Cemetery with Pastor
Bruce HOSTETLER officiating. The Hartzler Funeral Home of Akron is in charge of
arrangements. There will be no visitation.
George D. Mollencupp
Sept. 14, 1921 - Aug. 15, 1996
George D. MOLLLENCUPP, 74, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Life Care Center,
Rochester. Born in Kewanna to Charles and Ada COOK MOLLENCUPP, he lived most of his
life in the Kewanna and Rochester communities. On Jan. 9, 1959 in South Bend he married
Maxine H. HOLLOWAY, who survives.
He was a truck driver for Monarch and Regent Homes, Nappanee, before retirig in 1990.
He earned a Purple Heart and seven Bronze Stars while serving in Europe with the U.S. Army. A
member of the Disabled American Veterans, he was a lifetime member of the Lake Manitou
Veterans of Foreign Wars, where he was a Post Commander and a Trustee. He was also a member
of the Lake Manitou Moose Lodge #110 and the First Church of God, Rochester.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Sandra Kay FERRELL, Rochester; Mrs.
Dennis (Carol Ann) STEVENSON, Downy, Calif.; and Karen Sue SHAFER, Mishawaka; one
son, George and wife Marcella MOLLENCUPP Jr., Woodbury; four step-daughters, Mrs. Charles
(Christine) BRADLEY, Mrs. Fred (Patricia) ENYART, Mrs. Jerry (Cleta) POOR, and Terra
LITTLE, all of Rochester; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived
by two sisters, Mrs. Bess ENGLE, Bruce Lake, and Mrs. Mary RADERSTROF, Kewanna, and
one brother, Edward MOLLENCUPP, Bruce Lake, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother, Bill [MOLLENCUPP].
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Church of God, Rochester, with the Rev.
Samuel BENNETT officiating. Burial will be at Citzens Cemetery, Rochester. Visitation will be
from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Foster & Good Funeral Home, Rochester, and at the church one hour
prior to services. Military graveside services will be conducted by the VFW and the American
Legion.
