John L. Donaldson<br />

April 9, 1913 - May 27, <strong>1996</strong><br />

John L. DONALDSON, 83, North Manchester, died at 7:25 p.m. Monday at Wabash<br />

<strong>County</strong> Hospital.<br />

Born in Denver to Albert and Emma Arclina ENGLISH DONALDSON, he married<br />

Veva A. AMBLER in 1939. He was a 1931 graduate of Peru High School, a 1935 graduate of<br />

Manchester College and a 1941 graduate of Indiana University. He was a principal and teacher at<br />

Butler Township, Chili, North Grove and Peru schools and a member of Mexico Church of <strong>The</strong><br />

Brethren, Mexico.<br />

Preceding him in death are his parents; one brother, Robert E. DONALDSON; and two<br />

sisters, Dorothy WHITWORTH and Elizabeth MULLINIX.<br />

Surviving are his wife, Veva A. DONALDSON, North Manchester; one daughter, Nancy<br />

E. McGUIRE, Mexico; two sons, David J. DONALDSON, Peru and Mark L. DONALDSON,<br />

Peru; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Mexico Church of the Brethren, Mexico, with<br />

Pator Tim DEARDORFF officiating Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico, and<br />

visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Wednesday at McCain Funeral Home, Denver.<br />

Memorials can be made to the Crestwood Dementia Wing Timbercrest, North<br />

Manchester.<br />

Ona L. Cessna<br />

Nov. 5, 1911 - May 28, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Ona L. CESSNA, 84, Elkhart, died at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Vellay View Nursing.<br />

In 1945, she married Gerald “Keith” CESSNA, who died in 1971. She was a registered<br />

nurse for 23 years, retiring in 1977 from Elkhart General Hosptal. She was a member of the<br />

Elkhart YWCA, a 1930 graduate of Anderson High School, and a 1941 graduate of Wishard<br />

Memorial Hospital School of Nursing.<br />

She is preceded in death by two sisters, Aleda MILES ad Lois CESSNA; and one halfbrother,<br />

Cecil LONG.<br />

Surviving are two sons, Duane CESSNA and Gary CESSNA, Elkhart; two gradchildren;<br />

and two sisters, <strong>The</strong>lma DOWNHAM and Belva WILSON, Logansport.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home,<br />

Elkhart, with Rev. Richard DUNN, Elkhart General Hospital Chaplain, officiating. Graveside<br />

services will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, <strong>Rochester</strong>. Visitation will<br />

be one hour before services.<br />

Memorials can be made to Goshen College School of Nursing, Ivy Tech School of<br />

Nursing or Souther Michiga School of Nursing.
