Jan. 23, 1984 - Oct. 20, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Ashleigh N. BRUNER, 12, 106 W. Jackson St., Mentone, died at 6:34 p.m. Sunday at<br />

Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, following a sudden illness.<br />

Born in Warsaw to Douglas and Judith GIBBLE BRUNER, she had lived in Mentone all<br />

of her life. She was a 6th grade student at Tippecanoe Valley Middle School and a six-year<br />

student at Debra Collier School of Dance.<br />

She is survived by her mother Judith BRUNER, Mentone, her father Douglas BRUNER,<br />

Warsaw, a sister Sarah [BRUNER], Mentone, maternal grandparents, Rodney and Jacqueline<br />

GIBBLE, Mentone, paternal grandparents, Alton and Mary Alice BRUNER, Burket, maternal<br />

great-grandparents, Ralph and Vadis WARD, Mentone, and paternal great-grandfather, Lester<br />

BRUNER, Warsaw.<br />

Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at King Memorial Home, Mentone, with the Rev. Don<br />

POYSER and Rev. Greg RITTENHOUSE officiating. Burial will be in Mentone Cemetery.<br />

Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.<br />

Lawrence J. Hizer<br />

June 3, 1922 - Oct. 21, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Lawrence J. HIZER, 74, 407 E. Ottawa, Logansport, died at 4 p.m. Monday at Memorial<br />

Hospital, Logansport. Born in Grass Creek to Joseph and Mae SADLER HIZER, he graduated<br />

from Grass Creek High School in 1940 and served with the Army during WWII. He retired as a<br />

Pennsylvanie Railroad brakeman after 25 years, and from the Logansport Municipal Utilities. He<br />

attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Kewanna.<br />

He is survived by two daughters, Marcia CAMPBELL, Columbus, Ohio, Katrina and<br />

husband Mark BEATTIE, Springfield, Ill., two sons, John J. HIZER, Logansport, Cresswell and<br />

wife Lynn HIZER, Indianapolis, nine grandchildren, two sisters, Irene SMITH, Kewanna,<br />

Marjorie SMITH, Logansport, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two<br />

sisters, Florence WHITTENBERGER and Caroline SARVER.<br />

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann Catholic Church with Rev. Donald<br />

GROSS officiating. Burial will be in Citizens I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Kewanna. Friends may call<br />

from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison-Metger Funeral Home, Kewanna. A scripture service<br />

will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.<br />

James E. Keim<br />

James Eugene KEIM, 85, Roann, died at 6:45 p.m. Monday at Peabody Retirement<br />

Community, North Manchester.<br />

Born in Perry Township, Miami <strong>County</strong>, to James and Lucy WHITMIRE KEIM, he<br />

married Virginia E. CLEMANS on Nov. 23, 1944 in Gilead; she died Feb.20, 1988. He had been<br />

an employee of the Miami <strong>County</strong> Highway Department retiring in 1976. He was a member of<br />

Ebenezer United Methodist church and attended the Olive Branch Church of God.<br />

He is survived by two daughters, Shelby Diana SWEET, Leo, Jerilyn Lea LOWE, Macy,<br />

a grandson, Aaron Christopher MASI, Macy, a sister Geraldine TERRELL, Leesburg, Fla.<br />

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with the Rev.<br />

Lawrence SEE officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise [Tombaugh] Cemetery, Roann. Friends<br />

may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
