Aug. 25, 1912 - Oct. 9, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Orville E. RENFROE, 84, Mexico, formerly of Macy, died at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at<br />

his Mexico residence.<br />

Born in Frankfort, Ky., to Joseph D. and Rosa May WILSON RENFROE, he married<br />

Dessie G. EDWARDS on Dec. 16, 1931 in Muncie; she died June 6, 1993. He then married Jean<br />

BURKETT WALTERS on Dec. 30, 1993 in Macy; she survives. He had lived most of his life in<br />

Miami <strong>County</strong> and was retired from Sealed Power Corp., <strong>Rochester</strong>. He was a member of Macy<br />

United Methodist Church and the United Auto Workers 721.<br />

In addition to his wife he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Don (Marsha) KOONS,<br />

Kalamazoo, Mich., Mrs. Harold (Georgia) TOWNSEND, Indianapolis, Mrs. Richard (Cora)<br />

REESE, Denver; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Mrs. John<br />

(Diana) ANSPACH, Logansport, a step-son, Joe WALTERS, Mentone, four step-grandchildren<br />

and five step-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Myron (Kathaleen) WILSON, Hopkins,<br />

Minn. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter [RENFROE].<br />

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Zimmerman Family Funeral Home, <strong>Rochester</strong>,<br />

with the Revs. Juanita KUHN, David WELSH and Rev. Jack PAVEY officiating. Burial will be<br />

at the Ever-Rest Cemetery, Logansport. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday, and one hour prior to<br />

services Saturday at the funeral home.<br />

Cyrus R. Peabody<br />

Jan. 26, 1922 - Oct. 9, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Cyrus Roy “Butch” PEABODY, 74, Plymouth, died at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday at his<br />

residence. He had been in failing health for four years.<br />

Born in Argos to Guy and Vira BEAUCHAMP PEABODY, he married Betty Mae<br />

STEINER on April 7, 1946 in Plymouth. She survives. He was a 1941 graduate of Argos High<br />

School and a veteran of WW II, serving with the 338th Engineers Battalion. A former federal<br />

employee he had worked for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy. He returned to Plymouth in 1984<br />

from O’Fallon, Mo. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Plymouth, where he<br />

served as an usher and on the board of directors. He was a member of the Disabled American<br />

Veterans, American Legion, Bourbon, where he served as the Post Chaplain and was also<br />

Chaplain for the 40 & 8.<br />

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Phyllis ROSE, Florence, S.C., a son<br />

Duane Roy and wife Kay PEABODY, Laurel, Md., four grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren,<br />

two sisters, Mrs. Gordon (Bernice) SWIHART, Tippecanoe, Mrs. Harold (Mary<br />

Louise) JOHNSON, Tippecanoe and a brother, Wallace PEABODY, Mishawaka. He was<br />

preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Pearl JOHNSON.<br />

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, Plymouth, with<br />

the Rev. Al KUNDENREICH ad Rev. Wes BROOKSHIRE officiating. Burial will be in Maple<br />

Grove Cemetery, Argos. Visitation is from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Grossman Funeral<br />

Home, Argos, or one hour before services at the church.<br />

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Plymouth, or the Marshall<br />

<strong>County</strong> Hospice.
