Jan. 16, 1911 - April 14, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Cora Mae DENNEY, 85, 13349 Hickory Road, Argos, died at 12:35 a.m. Sunday at Saint<br />

Joseph’s Hospital of Marshall <strong>County</strong>, Plymouth.<br />

She was born in Wakarusa to Jackson and Nancy HARRELL YEAZEL. She married<br />

Dale RUNYAN, and was later divorced. On Stpe. 20, 1935, in Warsaw, she married Joseph<br />

DENNEY, who died on Oct. 18, 1971. She was a homemaker and lived most of her life in the<br />

Argos community.<br />

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. James (Charmaine) HATFIELD, Loveland, Colo.;<br />

Barbara STOUDER, Nappanee, Mrs. David (Sue) FERRIS, Osceola; and Lonna HENRY,<br />

Plymouth; one son, Ronald and wife (Wanetta) DENNEY, Argos; ten grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren;<br />

one sister, Flossie DENNEY, Argos; and one brother, Irvin V YEAZEL,<br />

Tippecanoe. Preceding in death were one daughter, Sylvia RUNYAN; one son, Jackie Lee<br />

RUNYAN; two sisters, Fern LYONS and Joy YEAZEL; and one infant brother, Dale YEAZEL.<br />

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grossman Funeral Home, Argos. Burial<br />

will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m Tuesday<br />

and from 9 a.m. through the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be<br />

made to the Marshall <strong>County</strong> Heart Fund and the Arthritis Foundation.<br />

Hershel L. Hewitt<br />

March 10, 1918 - April 13, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Hershel LeRoy “Roy” HEWITT, 78, West Noe St., Kimmell, died at 3:15 p.m. Saturday<br />

at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne.<br />

He was born in Ligonier to Lee and Leala Mae LOCKE HEWITT. On July 26, 1947, in<br />

Fort Wayne, he married Lilia LaVern BURNS, who survives. He was a lifetime resident of Noble<br />

<strong>County</strong> and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a track supervisor for Chessie<br />

System (formerly B&O Railroad) and was a secretary for his union local.<br />

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Randy HEWITT, Kendallville, Hershel Leroy<br />

“Junior” HEWITT Jr., Ligonier; and Mike HEWITT, Indianapolis; four daughters, Virgie<br />

COOPER and Penny OWSLEY, both of Kimmell; Linda HEWITT, <strong>Rochester</strong>; and Karen<br />

WEAVER, Goshen; fourteen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Hubert<br />

HEWITT, Texas and Jim HEWITT, Knapp Lake; and two sisters, Margaret WADE, Cromwell;<br />

and Joan ROBBINS, Texas. Preceding in death were one daughter, Vickie [HEWITT]; one<br />

brother, Norris [HEWITT]; and one sister, Mildred SHELEY.<br />

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home, Ligonier, with<br />

Linda HEWITT officiating. Burial will be in the Sparta Cemetery, Kimmell. Memorials may be<br />

made to the Boys Town.
