Clleo D. HAWK, 88, formerly of Princeton Lane, Logansport, died at 2:15 a.m.
Wednesday at Life Care Center, Rochester.
Born in Winamac to Cecil L. and Estella M. DAGGETT, she married John L. HAWK on
April 29, 1928 in Valparaiso; he died March 20, 1981. She was a homemaker and a member of
the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia L. and husband David E. SMITH, Rochester,
Norma J. MULKEY, Upland, Calif.; a son John T and wife Caroline HAWK, Peru; four
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and one brother Richard GIFFORD, Wickieup, Ariz.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the McCloskey-Hamilton-Gundrum Fueral Home,
1603 East Broadway St., Logansport, with the Rev. Craig S. PENDL officiating. Burial is in
Ever-Rest Memorial Park Cemetery, Logansport. Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral
home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Leora Hurst

Leora HURST, 85, Macy, died at ExtendaCare Nursing Home, Rochester on Thursday.
Born in Gilead to Wesley and Bertha DUKES BOWEN, she married Bernard W. HURST
on July 10, 1937 in Macy; he died June 8, 1974. She was a member of the First Christian Church
of Macy, the Macy Mother’s Club and the Pleasant Hour Club.
She is survived by four sons, John A. and wife Carol HURST, Macy, James M. HURST,
Logansport, Steven R. HURST, Warsaw, David K. and wife Lorie [HURST], Rochester; thirteen
grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Irene SECOR, Akron.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Zimmerman Family Funeral Home,
Rochester, with the Rev. Junior BOSE officiating. Burial will be at Plainview Cemetery, Macy.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today, and from 12 noon until the hour of services on Sunday at the
funeral home.
