Dec. 19, 1939 - June 1, <strong>1996</strong><br />

George H. SLISHER, 56, 400 W. Ninth St, died at 5:31 p.m. Saturday at the Woodlawn<br />

Hospital emergency room.<br />

Born in <strong>Fulton</strong> <strong>County</strong> to Charles H. and Elsie Eleanor SHAMBARGER SLISHER, he<br />

married Helen L. ONSTOTT on Sept. 23, 1967 in <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Rebecca and Sarah SLISHER, both of<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>; four sisters, Mrs. Betty TOLLEY, Peru, Mrs. Margery SAUSAMAN, Mexico, Mrs.<br />

Mary Ann DONALDSON, Peru, and Phyllis RITCHIE, Macy; three brothers, Fred [SLISHER],<br />

<strong>Rochester</strong>, Terry [SLISHER], Kewanna, and Rev. Ken [SLISHER], Oblong Ill. A brother, Gene<br />

[SLISHER], preceded in death Aug. 24, 1992.<br />

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Macy Christian Church, with Rev.<br />

Ken SLISHER officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Macy, with Rev. John<br />

ZAHN officiating <strong>The</strong>re will be no visitation.<br />

Zimmerman Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.<br />

Herman L. Alderfer<br />

July 7, 1920 - May 31, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Herman L. ALDERFER, 75, 6536 19th Road, Argos, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim<br />

Manor Nursing Home, Plymouth, where he had lived for 16 months.<br />

Born near Mentone to Clarence Lee and Gertrude FLETCHER ALDERFER, he lived his<br />

entire life in the Argos community.<br />

On Jan. 24, 1941 at the Walnut Church of the Brethren, Argos, he married Carmine<br />

Louise GOOD, who preceded in death May 1, 1988.<br />

He was a retired farmer and a bus driver for 32 years with Argos Community School<br />

system. He also had been employed by DelMonte Foods for five years.<br />

He was a member of Walnut Church of the Brethren.<br />

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dale (Joy) HALL, Argos; three sons, Russell Lee and<br />

Doris ALDERFER, Argos, Larry and Norma ALDERFER, Tipton, David H. and Karen<br />

ALDERFER, Argos; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, Weldon<br />

ALDERFER, Argos. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, IvaLene<br />

[ALDERFER], and an infant brother, Marvin [ALDERFER].<br />

Services were at 11 a.m. today at the Walnut Church of the Brethren with Pastor Tony<br />

SCHNEIDERS and Rev. Bob RICE officiating. Burial was in Richland Center I.O.O.F.<br />

Cemetery, northwest of <strong>Rochester</strong>. Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, was in charge of<br />

arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Walnut Church of the Brethren.
