Dale E. WELTY, 81, Rochester, died at 6:25 a.m. Monday at the Rochester Healthcare
Center.
Born in Flora to Sam and Mirtie EIKENBERRY WELTY, he married Medrith
BROWER on Aug. 12, 1939 in Mexico; she survives. He had been a resident of this area for
about 50 years coming from Carroll County. He was retired from the Logansport Machine
Company where he had been the production control manager. He was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church of Rochester, the Rochester Elks Lodge, Scottish Rite of South Bend, Ft.
Wayne Mizpah Shrine and a 50-year member of the Rochester Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Mrs James (Diane S.)
RICHARDSON, Masontown, Pa., two grandchildren, Christine ATCHLEY, New York City, and
Bryan ATCHLEY, Masontown, Pa. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev.
Robert CRYTZER officiating. There is no visitation. A committal service and a Masonic service
will be conducted at the Rochester I.O.O.F. Cemetery following the memorial service.
Zimmerman Fanily Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Marie Ora NORRIS, 76, 1117 Monroe St., Rochester, died at 10:35 p.m. Tuesday at Life
Care Center. She had been in failing health for a year.
Born in Hillsboro, Ill., to Jess and Ora FIELDS FILE, she came to Rochester from near
Griffith in 1954. She was married to Fredrick Arnold NORRIS who died in March, 1960. She
retired from Hart Schaffner & Marx in 1985 after 13 years. Prior to that she had owned and
operated the Courthouse View Cafe and the Peoples Cafe in Rochester.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ershel (Marie “Mickey”) CARLILE, Rochester; three
grandchildren, Gary HARROLD, Argos, Mrs. Mike (Mary) MILLS, Talma, Mrs. Marty (Sherri)
BROCK, Culver; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Ruth
CRAWFORD, Decatur, Ill., and a brother Robert CRAWFORD, Litchfield, Ill. She was preceded
in death by two grandsons, Terry and Larry HARROLD, several brothers and sisters.
