Richard E. Swisher<br />

June 22, 1918 - June 4, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Richard E. “Dick” SWISHER, 79, Royal Center, died at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at<br />

Logansport Memorial Hospital.<br />

Born in Logansport to Jesse E. and Henrietta J. KISTLER SWISHER, he graduated from<br />

Royal Center High School in 1935 and married Betty HUFFMAN in 1941. He was a retired<br />

employee from Royal Center Elevator and he also worked at Ray’s Creamery, Logansport. He<br />

was a member of the Logansport VFW and American Legion. During World War II he served<br />

with the U.S. Army in Germany and France.<br />

Preceding in death was a brother.<br />

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Joe SWISHER and his wife Elaine, Metea, and<br />

John SWISHER, Logansport; three daughter, Dee SPENCER and her husband Terry, Royal<br />

Center, Deb PITTMAN and her husband Rex, Royston, Ga., and Diane ZEIDER and her husband<br />

Chuck, Logansport; two sisters, Helen ROBINSON, Royal Center and Nell PHERSON,<br />

Middletown; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.<br />

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Harrison-Metzger Funeral Home, Royal Center, with<br />

Rev. Steve A. ROBINSON officiating. Burial will be at the Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.<br />

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until services Friday.<br />

Marge Thacker<br />

June 25, 1945 - June 4, <strong>1996</strong><br />

Marge THACKER, 50, Bourbon, died at 11:15 a.m.Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Medical<br />

Center, South Bend.<br />

Born in Plymouth to Thomas and Helen THOMPSON SYLER, she married James M.<br />

THACKER in 1963. She was a 25-year resident of Bourbon and had been employed by Dwyer<br />

Instrument, Wakarusa, for 13 years.<br />

Survivng with her husband are two sons, Patrick THACKER and hiw wife Kerrie,<br />

Mentone, nnd Mark THACKER and his wife, Michelle, Bourbon; two granddaughters, Allison<br />

THACKER, Mentone, and Nicole THACKER, Rocheter; one sister, Judy GONZALES, Santa Fe,<br />

N.M.; four half-sisters, Sheryl SIMMONS, Robin BURKETT, and Tomi SYLER, Plymouth, and<br />

Tracy SYLER, <strong>Rochester</strong>; and step-mother, Pat SYLER, <strong>Rochester</strong>.<br />

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, with Rev. Robin<br />

SMITH officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos. Friends may call at the<br />

funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to services Friday.
