that demonstrates the combativeness and efficiency of the Brazilian Prosecutors Office,
especially in combating transnational organized crime, result of the modernization and
maturity of the institution, starting from the entry into force of the Federal Constitution
of 1988 and the new Organic Law of the Federal Public Prosecution of 1993. The limited
time, however, does not allows us to discuss them in this paper.
Last but not least, it is important to recognize the work that the International Association
of Prosecutors and the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors have done over
the years to promote the effective criminal prosecution, especially against transnational
organized crime, with independence and impartiality, according to the “standards” and
the goals of the associations, recognized by the United Nations itself.
