Policy HOU/1 Meeting The Housing Needs, Glyn Farm, Colwyn Bay
Rep No Name People Type
574 CDN Planning (Mr Rhys Davies BA (Hons) MRTPI) [131] 1 Object
Summary The housing site at Glyn Farm should be deleted in favour of other more suitable sites in Colwyn Bay and Old Colwyn. The site which formed the subject of
planning application ref:0/35595 should be identified as an alternative to part of the Glyn Farm allocation
Change Sought: Deletion of Glyn Farm allocation and allocation of land at Coed Coch Road for up to 14 houses.
651 Mr John Blakesley [870] 1 Object
Summary This area has been a haven for wildlife, including birds and badgers, for many years and any development would have a severe impact on biodiversity.
Change Sought: Delete this site from HOU/1
28 Mr William George Renshaw [95] 1 Object
impact on value of property,
inadequacy of vehicle access,
inadequacy of drainage/sewerage network,
anti-social behaviour/damage tresspassing
disruption the development would cause.
Also refer to Glyn Farm Action Group representation.
Vehicular acces inadequate
Sewers/drainage marginal capacity.
Anti social behaviour/trespass of pedestrian traffic due to footpath through property.
Disruption caused by builders.
Economically not viable
The Council need to re-visit the pre deposit stage, prioritise brownfield sites over greenfield site at Glyn Farm
Change Sought: Remove site at Glyn Farm
35
Mr Justin Latchford [101]
1 Object
Summary Remove the Glyn Farm allocation, as the proposed development of 144 houses will have a detrimental effect to the highways, drainage, safety of pedestrians
and cause flood issues. A more appropriate site should be allocated which is deliverable over the plan period.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm Site
59 Mrs Valerie Barwell [124] 1 Object
Summary Access to Glyn Farm site via Groes Road already very dangerous, cannot take further traffic. Ifrastructure and drainage already struggling.
Change Sought: Removal of Glyn Farm site from LDP
62
Mr David Wallis [126]
1 Object
Summary Objection to proposed addition of areas around Glyn Farm, Colwyn Bay. Reasons include highway safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motor vehicles and
also sewage management for the area. I have been informed that the Glyn Estate sewage piping capacity, down into the town is already at a maximum.
Change Sought: Revisit process for the pre-deposit consultation with residents prior to any further progress.
The LDP should seriously consider removing the area designated on map 347 from the forthcoming Conwy LDP.
64
Mr and Mrs William Davies [128]
1 Object
Summary The council needs to revisit the pre-deposit consultation. Access to Glyn Farm site via Groes Road is already very dangerous and cannot sustain extra
traffic. Present infrastructure and drainage etc is already stuggling.
Change Sought: Revisit process for the pre-deposit consultation with residents prior to any further progress.
68
Ms Cheryl Voce [129]
19
Mrs Rachel Fox [52]
1 Object
Summary Increase in traffic and limited access to the estate. Water and sewerage systems insufficient, and more problems expected due to vandelism along the
footpath.
Council need to revisit predeposit stage. Brownfield sites take priority over greenfield site at Glyn Farm
Change Sought: Remove site due to access constraints and highway safety
1004 Mrs Janice Hulse [529]
1 Object
Summary To delete the proposed allocation at Glyn Farm (a greenfield site) for the reasons set out in the attached. To consider the alternative site at Dinerth Road as
shown in the attached location plan.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm Site from plan
995
Mr Dudley Drake [388]
1 Object
Summary The Local Development Plan has not been produced in alignment with community involvement scheme. Conwy County Borough Council need to revisit the
pre-deposit consultation. See attached plan for alternative site to site at Glyn Farm Colwyn Bay.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm site from plan
1024 Mr John Miller [391]
1 Object
Summary Objection on the grounds that land surface drainage is problematic, there is limited road access, badger setts are on the site, footpaths are compromised.
Building on farmland in this locality would destroy the beauty and peace of the valley, have serious consequence for the environment, raise preservation and
conservation issues, destroy amenities/leisure and tourism facilities.
We believe the concept of building at Glyn Farm and along the Nant y Grlyn Valley to be flawed, inappropriate, misguided and incomprehensible. It sets an
alarming precedent about building in open countryside.
Change Sought: Remove Glyn Farm Site from plan
243
Mr Basil Brammer [521]
1 Object
Summary Objection on grounds of inadequate drainage and possible flooding. Increased traffic increases the risk of accidents.
Change Sought: Groes Road is too narrow to have more traffic. Most of the road is one way as cars are parked all down the one side. 144 new houses will mean at least 288
more cars. It is the only road up to the estate. It is a good thing the emergency services are not stationed too far away, that is if they can get up here.
