Summary Cultural Heritage - It is questioned whether the housing provision within the Essential Setting of the World Heritage Site and within the historic landscape
designation (to the north of the castle and town walls, south of Twthill Farm) sits comfortably within the Strategic Policies for the Cultural Heritage or with the
WO Circulars 60/96 and 61/96 Planning and the Historic Environment: Archaeology and Historic Buildings and Conservation Areas. Other candidate sites
have been dismissed for these reasons.

Summary CR12
This site was not on the 2009 LDP as residental allocation, why is it appearing now? It is a green field site next to the local nature reserve. It feels
inappropriate for such a large development on the outskirts of a historic town.

Change Sought: Removal of the site CR12 & SR43 from the development proposals.

Summary We are residents living in the Cadnant Park, Conwy and are extremely concerned about aspects of the Plan which we consider to be unsound.
Site (CR12) is within, or close to several statutory/non-statutory designations:
1. World Heritage Site
2. Essential Setting of the World Heritage Site
3. Landscape of Outstanding Historic Interest
4. National Park
5. Local Nature Reserve
6. Listed Buildings
7. Site of Special Scientific Interest
8. Biodiversity Areas
9. Green Flag Award
10. Outstanding Quality Landscape Character (LANDMAP)
The allocation of site (CR12) is contrary to national/local guidance and is inconsistent with the approach to site selection.
Change Sought: Remove the housing allocation at Bodlondeb, Conwy.

Summary I object as follows:
The LDP does not have regard to:
The World Heritage Site Management Plan
The Urban Green Space Habitat Management Plan
Planning Policy Wales
Tourism Action Plan
The plan includes a vision, objectives and policies that all aim to protect and promote historic assets, open green spaces, biodiversity and dtourism. The
allocation of this site to housing and employmenet runs contrary to its own policies and, as such, the allocation does not flow logically from the strategy.
The assessment and allocation of Site CR12 has not been properly executed and should therefore be removed from the LDP.

Summary I object as follows:
The council made a compulsory purchase of the estate to ensure its preservation as an open space for all times.
The landscape quality of the Bodlondeb and Benarth headlands, the twin sentinels surrounding the World Hertiage Site and Conwy Castle and Walls have
always been considered an asset to Conwy.
The setting has always been of immense importance to the castle and the walls both of which are the jewel in the crown of the rich tapestry.
It should be listed as a historical or heritage park.

Summary I submit that, if this open space, valuable to maintaining a buffer between the Bodlondeb woods, and Bodlondeb itself, has any sort of houses and/or offices
built there, it will change the rural atmosphere of this delightful road and leafy environment for ever. This is not the type of development for Conwy, or
Deganwy. For example, there is ample room on the old Hotpoint site in Llandudno Junction for commercial developments. And as far as housing needs are
concerned, the two new estates in Junction are excellent, especially the one on the brown site.

Summary The proposed housing would be on land which is undeveloped (which contradicts the council's aim to use previously developed land). In addition, the green
fields backing onto bonlondeb woods are a wonderful green corridor into the historic town of conwy which would be ruined if made into another housing
estate. The documents speak of protecting the unique natural environment and this site is just that, seen from the castle walls, this green space is an asset
and should be protected and not destroyed.
Change Sought: I would like a more suitable site for housing development to be found.

Summary Whilst we have to take the pragmatic view that some development of Conwy's housing and commercial life is essential to the town's future, it is regrettable
that this particular land has been selected for such use. As a continuation from Bodlondeb park land, it forms a good visual break between the Conwy Morfa
built development and the town of Conwy itself on the western approach into town. However it is clear that should such allocation be a requirement under the
LDP, there are serious limitations within the existing settlement boundary to find an alternative site.
