SECTION FOUR - SPATIAL POLICIES, KEY DIAGRAMS AND SUPPORTING DEVELOPMENT CONTROL POLICIES
4.2.2 Housing Strategy Statement, Policy HOU/1 MEETING THE HOUSING NEED, Abergele Business Park
Rep No Name People Type
19586 Ms Ann May Andrews [2504] 1 Object
Summary This site has planning permission for employment uses. One of the themes of the LDP is to create jobs. The removal of this previously developed land site
from employment uses is illogical and sequentially unsustainable.
The plan fails to demonstrate why other sequentially preferable and previously developed employment sites in the County have not been reviewed for housing
potential the effect of which would reduce the scale of new and windfall allocation for the town.
There is no evidence that the Traffic Improvement Scheme can be delivered or can achieve its stated objective
Change Sought: Deletion of site
13450 Mr E Leahy [3092] 1 Object
Summary The Plan in its present form is totally unrealistic in relation to the infrastructure of Abergele, there can be no real evidence base that can lead to the veiw that
Abergele can support the introduction of 800 homes.
It does not offer any clear solution to the issue of traffic congestion in the town centre.
It adopts an overoptimistic view as to the jobs availability.
It does not take account of already stretched services in Health and Eduction.
It does not take account of the impact the policies of Denbigshire will have on Abergele.
Change Sought: Reduce the housing allocation for Abergele.
13373 Mr Alan Holden [14] 1 Object
Summary Adding 870 houses in Abergele out of a total of 1870 for all the urban areas is unbalanced and unsustainable.
No consultation has been made with the Abergele surgery or schools which are close to capacity. Also the traffic flow has not been considered correctly, most
of the flow is east-west/west-east and therefore a relief road to Llanfair TH wil not make a significant difference.
The development in Bodelwyddan has not been taken into account.
It has not been prepared in accordance with the Delivery Agreement - no Conwy Officers attended the meeeting organised by the Abergele Town Council.
Change Sought: Dramatically reduce the number of proposed houses for Abergele.
